Parking and alternative ways of getting to Gowrie Please do not park in the disabled car park if you are not a disabled permit holder. Please do not park in local business carparks, and in particular Foodland do not allow car parking for anyone other than customers. Street parking signage is varied in the surrounding streets and the map below shows where you can park for shorter durations 3-4 hours (in yellow) and any time between 8am and 6pm (in green). Public transport Tram: Thebarton tram stop is on Port Road with a 5 minute walk down Light Terrace to the centre on Dew Street. The tram is free for any journey between South Terrace and the Entertainment Centre. You can also park at the Entertainment Centre Park and Ride car park (between 5am – 6.30pm) and enjoy a 25 minute walk to work. You can claim the $4 daily parking fee on your tax. Buses: Port Road (stop 2: 150, 115, 117, 118, 286, 287,288), and George Street (stop 3, B10) At Tulia Wardli (Bonython Park), there is parking directly opposite Light Terrace which is free for the first 4 hours (with a 5 minute walk down Light Terrace to Dew Street). Cycling or walking There are great cycling options along the bike tracks near the Torrens. If you want to ride your bicycle to work and you’re not sure of a safe, fast route you can use the Cycle Instead route planner at the below link. It will give you the best route from your starting point to the office, how long it will take (at 20km/h) and the exact distance. It even tells you how many kilojoules you will burn on the cycle and how much cO2 you will be saving! http://maps.sa.gov.au/cycleinstead/ We have installed a bike rack near the front door of the Professional Learning & Inclusion Programs where you can park your bicycle. There is also a covered bike shelter near the back carpark. It is an approximately 33 minute walk (2.4 km) from Adelaide railway station on North Terrace to our office and the linear park is also a great walk along the cycling track.
