Changing password system. ISY will change its password system to Kerberos this autumn. All users are affected by this. What to do as a user before the change? Important! This only works using validation via keyboard. If you have ssh keys enabled they have to be temporary disabled. From a linux computer, you perform these steps: 1. Open a terminal window (right-click on the desktop and select 'Open Terminal'). 2. Write ssh phoenix.isy.liu.se and login with the same password you use to log on to the computer. You may have to accept the RSA key fingerprint. Just type yes, press enter and continue. 3. After login, you will get a text which includes this (not visible text, you are already in the Kerberos): User 'username' has been Automatically migrated to the Kerberos realm ISY.LIU.SE 4. There is some more text then comes "phoenix 1%." 5. We now need to validate your kerberos authentication. Type ssh firebird . Depending on the outcome there are two possible results 1. You got a valid kerberos login. The text below is shown You logged in using your kerberos password! 2. Something went wrong in the migration. The text below is shown. You logged in using your NIS password. Contact [email protected] for assistance in resolving the migration problem. Send an email to support and we will help you resolve the problem 6. Press enter to logout from firebird 7. Type exit and press enter. You are logged out from phoenix. 8. Migration is now completed. From a windows computer, you perform these steps: 1. Start the program Putty ('Start' - 'All programs' - 'Putty' - 'Putty'). 2. Write phoenix.isy.liu.se in the box for 'Host Name'. Make sure the 'Connection Type' is checked for SSH. 3.
