December/January/February Vocabulary Choice Menu At the beginning of every other week you will be assigned a vocabulary list. Each week, you will (1)finish your flip chart & write a CONTEXT rich sentence on Monday night due Tues. morning, then (2)choose two (2) activities from the menu below due Thurs. morning. Complete all activities in your vocabulary notebook, and be sure to label the top of the page with the Unit Number and label each activity with the Activity Title. Comic Strip Write a Letter True or False Quiz Create a comic strip using as many of your vocabulary words as you can. Don’t forget to underline the vocabulary word. Write a letter to friend or family member. Use as many vocabulary words as you can. Underline the words. Create a True or False Quiz for your vocabulary words. There should be at least one question for each word. Provide an answer key. What is the Question? Non-Examples Roll the Dice For each of your vocabulary words, write three questions for which the answer is the vocabulary word. Write each vocabulary word. Then write at least one non-example for each word. Example: parrot: eagle Example for the word “parrot:” Write a sentence for each vocabulary word. Before you write each sentence, roll a pair of dice. The total of the dice will tell you how many words should be in that sentence. Underline your words. What is a bird that lives in the rainforest? ABC Vocabulary He Said, She Said Silly Sentences Write the alphabet down the left side of your paper. For each letter, think of a word that is related to one of your vocabulary words. Write both words next to the letter. Write a sentence for each of your vocabulary words. Each sentence must contain quotation marks. Don’t forget to underline the words. Write a silly sentence for each of your vocabulary words. Underline the vocabulary words. Examples: A: Amazon- rainforest B: beautiful- parrot Context Rich Sentence Example: Ian can be quite absentminded always forgetting things that he needs.
