“SolidVerify for 3D” simulation recommendations Increase `Redraw

“SolidVerify for 3D” simulation recommendations
1. Increase ‘Redraw Interval’ in General Settings to get better performance of ‘SolidVerify for 3D’.
This allows SolidVerify for 3D to spend more time on background calculations between redraws.
2. Hide Holder(and/or Tool) while simulation is running – less objects to redraw will get better simulation
performance.
3. Disable ‘Clash Detection’ feature if they are not needed:
4. Zoom OUT the view or make it smaller to get faster animation.
5. Use ‘Region of Interest’ feature :
This results in faster simulation and rendering, since less geometry is considered during the simulation, and so is
a useful technique with large models.
6. Adjust View settings :
Faceted Rendering is enabled when user starts Zoom\Rotate\Move operation on the mode.
At this stage ‘SolidVerify for 3D’ will convert Stock model to a facetted representation to allow easier
interaction with the model. For Draft quality (but faster faceting), move slider to the left. For Higher quality
(but slower faceting), move slider to the right.
7. It is possible to cancel process of rendering in High quality when it takes a long time to complete.
Press Esc button to stop the process (press ESC multiple times when rendering is set to Multi-stage).
8. Make sure “Use advanced hardware acceleration” in General settings is enabled.
9. Possible performance improvement of MachineWorks using NVidia graphics cards:
Tests have shown that for some NVidia graphics cards there is a significant improvement if the Global Preset profile is
changed to "Workstation - Dynamic Streaming".
To set this, your end-user needs to open the NVidia Control Panel -> 3D Settings -> Manage 3D settings.
In the main window for Global settings they can then choose from a list of presets. At the bottom of the list is
"Workstation - Dynamic Streaming".
Please note that changing this profile will affect all applications on the PC. Also, some applications have their own
profile, e.g. SolidWorks, which will override the Global setting.
11. Try to use DirectX rendering instead of OpenGL (in General settings) :
Better performance can sometimes be gained by using DirectX 10 when it is available.
Some manufacturers’ graphics cards perform significantly faster when using DirectX 10 instead of OpenGL.
