About Gifford Farm
Gifford Farm Education Center, a
400 acre working farm, is a
department of Educational Service
Unit #3 and provides outdoor
education field trips to students in
the Omaha, Council Bluffs metro
area. ‘The Farm’ sees over 30,000
students, teachers, parents, scouts,
community members, and of course,
Day Campers each year!
Gifford Farm holds a special place in
our local history. The journals of
Lewis and Clark indicate that the
famous expedition camped on this
land in July of 1804, naming their
camp “Camp White Catfish”. Gifford
Farm was owned by the family of Dr.
Harold Gifford from 1919 until 1973 at
which time it was donated to the
State of Nebraska to be used for
purposes of education.
We welcome our Summer Day
Campers to be a part of Gifford Farm
and to enjoy the history, science,
nature, animals, the outdoors and
the adventures ‘The Farm’ has to
share with your children during our
Summer Day Camp sessions!

Our discipline policy
We feel that Our Day Campers behavior is a shared
responsibility of the Day Camper, the Camp staff and the
parents. We ask that each family discuss appropriate
behavior and sign and return a “Camp Behavior
Agreement”. Our commitment is to treat all campers with
respect and equality. Should a discipline problem arise we
will offer gentle reminders to the campers regarding their
behavior. Should the problem persist we will call the
parents for assistance.
