ON NEW ADVANCES IN STATISTICS:
THEORY AND APPLICATIONS

This workshop will put particular emphasis on statistical applications in health, engineering, social and environmental sciences—areas that reflect current research interests and achievements by members of the
Department of Statistics as well as those areas identified in the Department’s Strategic Plan. This meeting
will be an opportunity for the Department’s faculty members and graduate students, as well as interested
professionals from other departments and industry to learn and assess current and emerging statistical
methodologies.
There will be a special session in honour of John Brewster who retired from the University of Manitoba on
January 1, 2012.
