TeenNat Summer Internship
This free internship provides an opportunity for 13-17 year olds to participate in science and art
while exploring a 3,200 acre nature preserve. Participants will ask questions and gather biological
data using digital cameras and GPS units. Photos will be displayed in our gallery and uploaded to
iNaturalist.org. During this four week summer program, participants will gain environmental
knowledge, learn technical skills, be active in the outdoors, and contribute to scientific research
with the help of our scientists. Have fun, get a new camera, make new friends, and do real science!

The Summer High School STEM Internship Program (SHIP) is a partnership between the School of
Science and Technology (SST) at Sonoma State University and the Sonoma County Office of
Education (SCOE).
Since 2008, this program has matched promising Sonoma County high school juniors with faculty
mentors at SSU to collaborate on research projects in the areas of science, technology,
engineering, and mathematics. In addition to $1,000 stipends, students are given opportunities to
work on challenging research projects in state-of-the-art facilities and interact with faculty and SSU
students in the university environment. These students then act as ambassadors to relay the
highlights of their work to their classmates, friends, counselors, teachers, and principals during their
senior years.
Call for Student Interns (Flyer)
In 2015, fifteen high school juniors from Sonoma County will be selected to spend 4 full-time weeks
(or equivalent) this summer working with faculty at Sonoma State University. They will participate in
research projects in a variety of fields and receive stipends of $1000 each, provided by the
Sonoma County Office of Education.
Appropriate candidates are not only excellent students, but they have a passion for science,
technology, engineering, or mathematics. Student interns will be selected based on their intellectual
curiosity, depth of commitment to science and the internship experience, potential for success in
the sciences, and overall academic performance.

Scholars Program. Deserving high school students get real laboratory experience that
helps propel them into a great future. Some of these kids even get their names included
in peer-reviewed scientific studies – it’s a joy to see them succeed."

Music Camp
DISCOVERING THE JOY OF MAKING MUSIC
Each summer, Cazadero is proud to help budding musicians take their talent to a new
level. We help students develop technical ability, music comprehension, confidence,
creativity and ensemble performance skill. Because students are engaged in five hours
of practice each day, they make rapid progress at camp.
Cazadero's core program consists of five hours each day of small and large group
instruction in Orchestra, Jazz Ensemble, or Concert Band. Also offered: Classical and
jazz piano, and classical guitar, as well as an All Camp Choir for our Young Musicians
and Middle School Sessions. Learn more about our Curriculum and Camp Life.
NURTURED, CHALLENGED, AND INSPIRED
Caz strikes a balance between in-depth music education and carefree summer camp
fun. Though challenging, our practice schedule includes plenty of time for rest and
play. Campers also enjoy a variety of music electives along with sports, arts and
crafts, ecology, and other activities. Each day closes with an evening program such as
a campfire, talent show, or staff concert. At night, campers sleep on tent decks under
majestic redwoods and a star filled sky. The week culminates in a formal concert
performance by our students, attended by proud family and friends.
Campers at Caz are challenged by a rigorous curriculum, but the Caz magic also
comes from the inspirational setting and the love and care that the staff bring to
teaching our young musicians. Through immersion in music and nature, Caz teaches
important life skills such as teamwork, respect, compassion, goal setting, and
leadership.
Cazadero Summer Music Camp offers one- and two-week sessions based on age and
musical experience and ability. Learn more about how to register.
