Philips extends its Hue range with even smarter and more stylish choices


Philips launches Hue lux, bringing more choice to homeowners wanting to get
smart with bright white light
Philips unleashes beauty of light with 3D-printed Hue luminaires
Amsterdam, The Netherlands – Today, Philips (NYSE: PHG, AEX: PHIA), the global
leader in lighting announces a breakthrough new member of Hue. Hue lux is a bright
white-only version of hue, controllable using your smart phone or tablet and fully
compatible with the vast range of hue apps and hardware. The world’s leading personal
wireless lighting system for the home sets a new benchmark for connected quality white
light.
The first step into a connected home
With the launch of Hue lux bulbs, anyone who wants great
quality, functional white light for everyday living can now
enjoy a smart LED bulb with perfect digital dimming control.
Using the intuitive app, you can lower the setting from bright,
warm white light for practical tasks to dimmed light, all from
the convenience of your smart device, even when you’re
away from home. Hue lux uses the same backbone as the
rest of the hue eco-system so you can enjoy third party apps,
such as the disco app synching hue lux to music. It’s also
compatible with Hue control devices such as the jawbone
bracelet which detects when you are waking in the morning
and switches on your Hue lux in your bathroom.
Hue lux is available in North America and Europe at selected
retail outlets after summer 2014, and will be accompanied by
a new app update. Philips hue lux starter kit (two bulbs +
one bridge): US $99.95 /€99.95 (RRP).
Philips is also unveiling the world’s first 3D-printed
connected luminaires, a design addition to the expanding
Philips Hue range. Fusing the worlds of light, art and
technology, these luminaires allow limitless light effects,
bringing a piece of art to your living room. The innovative
Philips 3D-printed Hue table & pendant luminaires were
co-created with globally-renowned design teams
WertelOberfell and Strand+Hvass.

Making the impossible with light With Hue, a simple finger swipe on your smartphone
or tablet lets you create infinite personal light effects from a palette of over 16 million
colors, shades of white and programmable light scenes. You can turn your Philips 3Dprinted Hue luminaires into stunning features such as illuminating the luminaires to tune
in with the setting sun, by connecting it automated internet services*.
Fully compatible with the expanding Philips Hue eco-system of bulbs, lamps, apps and
switches, the 3D-printed Philips Hue table and pendant luminaires are made exclusively
to pre-order at www.meethue.com, commencing March, 31st 2014 for: pendant EUR
2,999 and table EUR 2,499.
The new members of the Hue family will be on display at the Philips booth at Light and
Building show in Frankfurt from 31st March – 4th April 2014.
