What is MedlinePlus Go Local?
 MedlinePlus created by NLM in 1998
 Go Local created by NLM in 2004
 Invited medical libraries to submit proposals
 Administered by NNLM regions (GMR)
 NLM supplies infrastructure (database & vocabulary)
 NLM coordinates organization & communication
 State projects supply staff, data & promotion
What is Michigan’s Go Local?
 2004 – NLM accepted WSU Shiffman Go Local
proposal for all of Michigan
 2005 – started populating database
w/ 200 HIV records User Friendly Manual
(Detroit Community AIDS Library)
 2007 – launched “live” 6,600 records
 2009 – now have 14,100 records
– over 11,00 records audited

 2005 – selected name “Michigan Go Local” and
