Participants Role Outline Type: Volunteer Role Title: Homework Club Volunteer Where: The Place at Platt Lane (formally Fallowfield Library), Platt Lane, Manchester M14 7FB Commitment: Young people use the library after school, on Saturdays and in the school holidays for their homework queries. Volunteers would be asked to support drop in sessions either during the late afternoon / early evening sessions and/or on Saturdays (depending on the sessions on offer) We are keen to establish the homework club around the suitability of the volunteer’s commitment. Therefore I would encourage you to apply if you feel you would be interested and able to do either an afternoon slot or a Saturday at this stage. You would only expected to do one shift and it wouldn’t last longer than 2 hours. Duration: We ask for a minimum commitment of 3 months Requirements: A group of volunteers called Friends of Fallowfield have come together to save Fallowfield Library from closing. City South Housing has offered Friends of Fallowfield support in order to transform the library into a community asset and a sustainable enterprise going forward. For volunteers this is an exciting time to get involved and be part of something new, which will become a vital community asset within Fallowfield.
