Synopsis – this outline explains the flow of the party!
Hanna and Harry Heart are a legend in the town of Amorville. They both grew up there and turned
into the town's most popular and enviable high school sweethearts as the All-Star Cheerleader &
State Champion Quarterback! They wed soon after high school and today, Hanna's a beautiful NFL
cheerleader and Harry’s a talented Quarterback for the St. Louis Lambs! The Hearts travel to
Amorville often to see their family and friends and have made it a tradition to host a Valentine’s Day
soiree in Amorville. (*The host of the party does not need to be Hanna or Harry Heart! This is only in the
storyline.) This year, they hosted their party at the lovely and quaint Mio Amore Café – in the heart of
downtown Amorville. As soon as their guests arrived, they mingled with yummy appetizers and
quizzed each other on Famous Couples trivia questions while catching up on the latest juicy gossip.
Hanna got the party going with some fun Valentine’s Day spirited games such as the Romantic Movie
Challenge, the What Valentine’s Day Thing Am I game, the Mio Amore Rap Contest and the So You
Think You Can Dance Challenge. Hanna served a delectable dinner and to everyone’s shock...a
victim collapsed to their death! The guests rallied together to figure out whodunit before the police
arrived! Only stopping to break the intensity of the investigation with some hilarious games such as
the Valentine’s Day Charade Challenge and the How Do You Do, I Know You Contest, the guests
pressed on and filtered through information they gathered from the suspects! Hanna’s older brother,
being the lead forensic investigator in Amorville, performed a preliminary forensic investigation. The
guests quickly used this valuable information to submit their best guess of whodunit to Hanna. Once
everyone was certain they had chosen the right suspect, they took turns accusing each other and
then to everyone’s amazement, the murderer confessed! After a brave escape attempt by the
murderer, the guests relieved their stress with some more entertaining games such as the Love Song
Lyric Challenge and the Valentine’s Day Love Bird Challenge.
Overall, it was Hanna and Harry’s most memorable party!

So you’ve been assigned a character and you’ve come to the party dressed in the most
fabulous costume and have been told to play your role. So now what?
The mystery is separated into 3 rounds. During the party, you will be handed an envelope that
contains the clues necessary for your character for the round. The clues for all of the required
characters provide everything that you need to solve the mystery. However, during the
investigation segment of the game, you will need to ask the right questions and pay close
attention to everyone’s clues to be able to get the whole picture of what has happened.
FULL INSTRUCTIONS IN
THE PURCHASED GAME.
From this point forward, you are to remain in character until the mystery is solved. If you are
playing a ‘green alien from Mars’, then that is who you are until the end! Undoubtedly, your
host has cast you into a character that you are comfortable playing. There are some
characters that are designed to be played more reserved than other characters that should be
played more boisterous. Feel free to play your role however you feel comfortable. Embellish
your character’s personality if you would like. However, if you are feeling more reserved
tonight, you can opt to allow the other characters to approach you or you can simply listen in
on others’ conversations to get your information.

everyone. (Contact info:______________________________________________________________________________)
ROUND ONE – COCKTAIL (APPETIZER) HOUR - IT’S PARTY TIME!
DIRECTIONS FOR THE HOST: Round one – cocktail hour begins as the guests arrive. Create a Valentine’s Day ambiance with a
love song mix CD playing softly, Valentine’s Day décor (i.e. hearts, flowers, pink and red balloons, etc.), and a picture slide show
of your friends if there is a television in the party room.
Cocktails (yummy non-alcoholic drinks for teens) and appetizers can be served and a round one envelope should be handed to
each guest. Make sure the guests’ instructions and the character descriptions are available for the guests to review. You can
also creatively display the clue-containing envelopes on a table for the guests to locate their own character names. Don’t forget
to take both individual pictures of your guests and a group picture once everyone arrives as they’ll all want copies of these!
This round is designed for the characters to get acquainted with each other and the plot will start to unfold as the characters
discuss the information in their clue cards. Motives will be unveiled and some characters will be instructed to perform certain
actions throughout the game. Make sure not to rush this round as it is actually the most important round. First time hosts tend
to rush things…don’t do this! It will take time for each guest to make their rounds to speak to everyone and discuss things that
they are instructed to discuss as per their clue cards.

Any of the bonus game materials (optional) – including the Money Challenge money.
If you will have Eugene Love as a guest - sneak him a post it note pad and a pen after he reads his round one clue
card. Tell him it is for doing practical jokes on the other guests (this is optional, but hysterical).
ROUND ONE CLUES – CUT OUT, SLIP INTO ENVELOPES AND LABEL WITH THE APPROPRIATE ROUND AND CHARACTER

HANNA HEART- ROUND ONE
Remember that you are the ultra-energetic Cheerleader for the St. Louis Lambs Football Team. You are known for an outwardly
aggressive persona and you’ll do anything to get your way. You and your husband Harry grew up in Amorville and come to town to visit
your friends throughout the year and you always come into town to host a Valentine’s Day dinner party!
USE THE FOLLOWING FAMOUS COUPLE TRIVIA QUESTIONS AS AN ICE BREAKER
Question: Everyone was shocked when this ‘pretty woman’ married Lyle Lovett. Who was she? Answer: Julia Roberts
Question: Angelina Jolie was married before she married Brad Pitt. What ‘older man’ was she hitched to? Answer: Billy Bob Thornton
CLUES TO REVEAL DURING THIS ROUND
During this round, mingle with other guests to discuss the following information with whomever you choose:
Tell Ador Candyman that you had some mobsters visit you the other day back home to collect on the debt that you
accrued in your name for the bet you placed for Ador on the Super Bowl this year. You need $3600.00 immediately or
the mobsters will murder you! They’ve given you 48 hours. They said they would be waiting for you when you got off
the plane in St. Louis and you better have the cash in hand or you will ‘swim with the fishes.’
Tell a few people about your situation and get their advice on what you should do. There’s probably $3600 in this
room right now – maybe you could borrow it from your friends? It’s worth a shot. (If you are not playing the Money Game,
EACH CHARACTER
WILL HAVE A
Tell a few people about how your husband Harry wants to build a youth football training center in the town of Amorville
since you both grew up here. However, Desiree and Ador Candyman refuse to sellround
this tiny plot ofone
land in the
middle
clue
of the land that Harry purchased. The Candymans have a fireworks stand on it that has been there for over 50 years.
Even though Harry’s offered them triple the price the land is worth –they still refuse to sell!
CARD IN THE
Tell your husband Harry to try to be nice to people for a change. This is your party and you don’t want to look bad.
Tell Hershey Darling that you heard that he had some out of town visitors in suits pull up PURCHASED
in a Lincoln Towncar with
government license plates to his chocolate shop the other day. Ask him what they were doing in Amorville.
PERSONAL CLUES TO CONCEAL
GAME
disregard this and do not try to borrow money from friends.)
You placed a bet for Ador in St. Louis with some bookies. Ador lost the bet and owes the bookies $3600 and hasn’t paid
you and you are in serious trouble since it was under your name. You are probably going to have to tell Ador’s wife and let
her know about his gambling problem. You really don’t want to tell your husband Harry that you are in trouble with the mob
or he’ll flip out! He certainly can’t have any scandals hit the media as it could jeopardize his football career for sure! If the
media found out that a cheerleader who is the wife of an NFL player was making bets on football games – you’re pretty sure
it would look really bad!
During the mystery, your character must be honest and not make up any potentially mystery-altering clues in addition to
those provided to you. You do not, however, have to share the clues that you collect with other guests.

DIRECTIONS FOR THE HOST:
FOR THE VICTIM: Before the party, in the nearest bathroom/restroom, place the following items under the sink - the
victim sign (page 33), scotch tape, host supplied white non-toxic face makeup (optional but funny and suggested), the (cut
out) murder weapon (page 34), and if you have purchased the victim t-shirt and / or crime scene tape. If there is not a
cabinet under the sink, place these items in any location that can be concealed within that restroom. The murder victim
will be instructed in their clue card for round two to look for it if there is not a cabinet under the sink.
The murder victim will be instructed in their clue card to become the victim according to a cue of the host reading the
results of the Romantic Movie Challenge to the group (see below). The murder victim will be instructed in their round two
clue card to go to the nearest restroom and find the victim kit and to put the white face makeup on their face (optional), put
on the victim sign by adhering it to their chest with Scotch tape, to adhere the murder weapon to their hand with scotch
tape, and if the optional victim t-shirt is available- to put that on (with the victim sign on top) and if the crime scene tape is
there - to decorate themselves with it. It is hilarious when a fully decorated victim walks back into the party room!

FULL INSTRUCTIONS IN
THE PURCHASED GAME.
TO END THE ROUND: At the conclusion of this round, give the guests a time period in which to fill in their final guesses

PRE-MURDER CLUES:
Tell Ador Candyman that if he doesn’t sell that land, you might have to resort to drastic measures. You really won’t
have a choice since you have the ground breaking ceremony scheduled in exactly 2 weeks.
Ask Hanna, your wife, about this rumor you just heard about that she placed a bet with St. Louis bookies for Ador
Candyman on the Super Bowl and he lost and owes Hanna money. And if the media finds out that your wife is
placing bets on NFL games with St. Louis bookies that are tied to the mob – it will certainly end your career! Tell
her you can’t ATM that much cash and there’s no way to get it by the time you two get off the plane in St. Louis.
You wished she would have told you about it before you came to Amorville.
Speak to Rose Darling about her late great grandmother passing away last week. Ask her if there will be a big
inheritance because you remember that she had loads of money – at least while you were growing up in Amorville
everyone called her Mrs. ‘Money Bags’ Candyman.

DIRECTIONS FOR THE HOST:
After you collect the Murder Mystery Investigation Sheets, allow the guests
to one by one in front of the group accuse who they believe the murderer is as well as the motive behind the
murder. Collect the investigation sheets to prevent the guests from changing their answers as they hear the
other guests divulge their guesses as to whodunit and their motive 
Serve dessert and coffee (or hot cocoa, or after dinner drinks for adults, etc.) at this time.
Once everyone has accused someone, pass out the round three envelopes to your guests and have them sit in
a circle or semi-circle in order to be able to see guests as they read their solution cards one at a time to the

This is the final solution round. Every guest at this party will now tell their story to the group - in a specific order dictated by
this final solution clue card - and the murderer will now confess. Before you read your final solution, read the following
music lyrics to the other guests and ask them to give you the band and name of the song:
First time I saw your eyes
Boy, you looked right through me
Play it cool but I knew you knew
That cupid hit me
Answer: The artist is Fergie and the song is Clumsy
Say the following to the group:
"As everyone knows, last time we were in town, Ador Candyman asked me to place a bet for him on the Super Bowl with
the bookies I know in St. Louis. So, I did and he lost the bet. Then, Ador couldn’t pay me the money he owed the bookies
and since the bookies are backed by the St. Louis Mob, the mobsters paid me a visit and told me I had 48 hours to get
the $3600 I owed them or ‘I’d swim with the fishes.’ I can only assume I don’t want to be swimming with these fish. The
