Christmas 2015 Newsletter
Christmas Lunch
Christmas Lunch will be on Wednesday 16th December. There is a form attached for you to order your
child’s choices. Please complete and return to the office by Monday 7th December. Lunch costs £2.20,
as for a normal lunch and should be paid when lunch is ordered. Thank you.
Christmas Cards
We will be making a Christmas Wishes Tree again this year. Each child will be making a bauble with a
Christmas message for our Christmas tree. We will have a post box for those children who want to
send a Christmas card. The post box will be emptied and cards delivered on the last day of term.
Christmas Fair
Christmas Fair is on Friday 4th December at 3.15pm. There will be games, stalls and refreshments as
well as a raffle. We will also have a second-hand toy and book stall. If you have any of the following
donations, please bring them to the staffroom on the morning of the fair:
Toys, games, cakes, chocolate tombola prizes, raffle prizes, cakes.
We will have a mufti day on the day of the fair with the theme of ‘Christmas’ in return for a tomola
prize.
Christmas Play – A Lad In A Manger
All children have now had letters about their costumes. Please bring all costumes into school by
Friday 4th December at the latest. We have a dress rehearsal on Monday 7th December and James
Bird will be visiting to take photos for the Tavistock and Okehampton Times. There will be a sound
and dress rehearsal on Wednesday 9th December in the morning and Treetops will be visiting to see
the show.
The performance starts at 6pm on Wednesday 9th December and children need to be at the hall by
5.30pm. FOLS will be providing refreshments during the interval for a donation. Thank you FOLS.
Rainbow Theatre
After the success of last year’s Cinderella, Rainbow Theatre are returning with their production of
Sleeping Beauty on Thursday 10th December at 10am at the Nicholls Hall. You are welcome to join us.
Christmas Party
The school Christmas Party will be on Thursday 17th December in the afternoon. Children should
wear school uniform in the morning but may bring party clothes to change into after lunch, if they
wish. Please bring a small, labeled plate of food for your child for the party tea – this is just for your
child to eat, NOT to share – to the staffroom in the morning. School will provide drinks. If the children
are very good, we may have a special visitor. Pick up time will be 3.30pm, as normal.
PE Kit
Class 2 will have their final gym lesson at Okehampton College on Monday 14th December, so children
will still need their PE kit in school for the last week of term. They will also need their trainers for
Daily Physical Activity.
Last Day Of Term
Children should wear school uniform. Please bring a named game in a named bag to share. No book
bags necessary.
Coats and Hats
Please make sure your child has a warm waterproof coat in school every day. We try and get the
children out to play every day, if at all possible, and we will be walking to the hall several times over
the coming weeks. It is also a good idea for the children to have hats and gloves for colder days, as it
can be quite nippy in the playground at times!
