H.E.B. hosted a “Primo Pick Party”, where patrons completed a passport by visiting tasting stations located throughout the Vintage Park location store during a limited window of time and returned them to Chamber volunteers. The Chamber Foundation was required to secure at least 100 completed passports in order to earn the $1,000 donation. 139 passports were collected and the donation will be used by the Chamber’s Foundation for Green Sides projects. The Houston Northwest Chamber of Commerce and the Foundation are committed to serving our business community and building the economic health of the region. Studies show that an aesthetically pleasing environment attracts new business. In the past several years, the Chamber and the Chamber Foundation completed a major landscaping project which placed trees, shrubs, and flowers on a nine mile stretch of FM 1960 (Cypress Creek Parkway) from I 45 to Mills Road (just west of 249). The Green Sides project will plant trees on pre-approved private property of businesses that border Cypress Creek Parkway. The goal is to reforest the corridor and to make the businesses more appealing to customers, soften the hardscape, and to help minimize the view of unsightly telephone poles and billboards.
