Modalities for Performance
Bonus Hits Ground
T
he committee for Performance Bonus has
concluded
deliberations on the modalities for the execution of the
LASAA Merit Business Award
(MBA). In a presentation to
staff at the Head office Board
Room, Mr. Kenny Salami of
Ideas House, consultant for
the agency in this regard, gave
details of the modalities.
According to Mr. Salami,
the LASAA MBA would on a
monthly basis, review all innovative ideas presented by staff
and a cash reward of a hundred thousand naira would be
awarded to the most creative
ideas. He added that the award
would come in three categories
vis-à-vis ideas for revenue generation, ideas for cost saving
and ideas for positive change.
Mr. Salami however, emphasized that certain criteria
would be carefully considered
in the award process. “Creativity and uniqueness of ideas,

practicability and ease of implementation will be the bench
mark for the implementation
process” said Mr. Salami. On
this note, he added that the
intent of the LASAA MBA was
to “encourage the spirit of enterprise and motivate staff for
better performance”.
On the other hand, Mr. Salami explained that plans are
ongoing for the creation of a
Performance Bonus Scheme
which would see to the quarterly and annual appraisal of
staff financial performance
and then reward them accordingly. However, he stated
that when the time was apt
for implementation, it would
cut across all Local Government staff, Product Managers
and all target based staff and
would be based on the Managing Director’s discretion.
Human Resources Department Embarks on Staff Opinion Poll
he Human Resources Department last week
released a staff
feedback form tagged
“Staff Pulse”. The two
paged questionnaire according to the department is aimed at getting
“an in-depth view of what
staff feel about the Agency”.
Requesting all members of staff to fill and
return before the close of
work on Friday, 22nd June
2012, Human Resources
Department emphasized
the need for all staff to
participate in the survey
process in order for the
department to adequate-
ly address pertinent issues in their respective
departments. “It is an
opportunity to receive
constructive feedback on
the ways we can improve
as an agency” said Mrs.
Oyinlola, Head, Human
Resources Department.
Cutting across several
aspect of work place operations; Mission and
Purpose, Quality and
Customer Focus, Communication,
Personal
Expression/
Diversity,
Compensation, Growth
Opportunities, etc. The
survey is expected to help
identify areas of improvement in the Agency’s
overall performance.
LASAA Cooperative Society Holds Quarterly Meeting
T
he LASAA
Cooperative
Society last
week Friday
held its first meeting
for the year. According
to Mr. Lanre Adeyanju
of the Client Services
Department and General Secretary of the
Society, the meeting
was aimed at reviewing last year’s activities as well as address
new developments in
the society.
Mr. Adeyanju explained that the society which presently
has over a hundred
and fifty members has
recorded a significant
amount of success
since inception. He
stated that aside last
year’s purchase of
house hold commodities for its members
during the yuletide
season, the society
which already has a
working arrangement
with LG Electronics,
Haier Thermocool and
Citizens Electronics,
is presently working
on the acquisition of
landed property for its
members.
The General Secretary also revealed
that the international
Cooperative
week
which is a worldwide
event is scheduled to
commence from the
28th June to 7th July,
2012. He hinted that

on the 4th of July,
there would be a raffle
draw for all members
and prospective members of staff with a star
prize of a brand new
car and other attractive
prizes to be won. Ticket for the draw will be
sold for two hundred
naira (N200) each.
He thus, encouraged
members of staff that
are yet to join the society to do so, as there
are several benefits attached to doing so.
The LASAA Cooperative Society was
founded in April,
2011. The form for
membership goes for
two thousand naira
(N2,000) only.
Winners of Mecca,
Jerusalem Pilgrimage Set for Take Off
E
xpenses for the two winners of the 2012 pilgrimage to Jerusalem and
Mecca have been settled
by the Agency. Earlier this year,
Miss Ifeoluwa Dada of the Client Services Department and Mr.
Sarafa Olabiran of the Administrative Department emerged
as winners of the Jerusalem and
Hajj Pilgrimage ballot that held
in the Board Room of the Head
office.
According to Mrs. Oyinlola
Adeshina, Head, Human Resources Department, immediately following their emergence
as winners, the agency had gone
ahead to settle the financial cost
of the two winners with the Ministry in charge and presently,
await the announcement of their
take off date.
The initiative to annually sponsor two members of staff to Jerusalem and Mecca was reached
during the Agency’s 2010 Annual
General Meeting and the duo
Miss Dada and Mr. Olabiran will
be the second set of beneficiaries.
It will be recalled that Mrs. Adeola Imoudu of the Client Services
Department and Miss Yewande
Oshinowo of the Billing and Debt
Recovery Department were the
first set beneficiaries.
