1.1 Purpose (Unique value add)
Operate and maintain the seven Central Wastewater Treatment Plants and other duties as required ensuring safe efficient and effective operation to meet
relevant Corporation and industry standards in order to maintain the safety and quality of treated wastewater.
1.2 Objectives
The objectives (maximum 6) of this role are to:
 Operate a variety of treatment plants ranging from simple to complex technologies including: Imhoff tank processes, biological filter processes, lagoon
processes, treated wastewater re-use schemes and activated sludge processes.
 Operate, maintain and provide emergency response for the wastewater treatment plants (located at Heathfield, Hahndorf, Bird in Hand, Gumeracha,
Angaston, Mannum and Murray Bridge) in accordance with relevant Asset Management Plans, EMS and Licence Conditions.
 Ensure workplace Health and Safety, Environmental and Water Quality obligations are adhered to and maintained through personal compliance with
legislation, policies and procedures.
 Perform under general direction field based construction, maintenance and operations activities, incorporating water and wastewater systems within the
wastewater treatment plants.
 Contribute to the effectiveness of the work team through participation in required operations and compliance training.

Maintenance
 Maintain Wastewater Treatment Plants in accordance with asset maintenance plans when required.
 Capture daily tasks within Maximo (Works Management System - WMS).
 Assist trades with plant maintenance (repair/service/calibrations of plant equipment).
 Liaise with workshops and contractors to organise corrective maintenance of plant and equipment to ensure
continued operation.
Compliance
 Conduct daily operations in accordance with Quality Management Systems (EMS, DWQMS, HS).
 Input into development/improvement of management system procedures.
 Operate treatment plant to licence conditions.
 Report all environmental/operational incidents and hazards.
