1. What is the difference between organic and inorganic
nutrients?
Organic nutrients contain Carbon, and Inorganic don’t.
2. What are the 3 macronutrients and 2 micronutrients?

Fats, Acids, Starches, Sugar
Vitamins and Minerals
3. Describe the role and source of an essential nutrient in our
body. What happens if we have too much of it
(excess/overdose), or too little (deficiency)? What is the
optimum amount?
An essential nutrient helps organs and parts of our body function
as they should. For every nutrient the optimum amount differs, as
the importance of the nutrient increases.
4. What is the difference between diffusion and osmosis?
Diffusion is the transfer of molecules from an area of high
concentration, to an area of low concentration. Osmosis is the same
process, but with water.
5. a) Identify what each number on the fertilizer bag stands for
Nitrogen, Phosphorus, Potassium

6. What are the advantages and disadvantages of using
artificial fertilizers?
Advantages :
Plants grow faster, Bigger and better crops.
Disadvantages:
Chemicals are in your plants, and run off into our oceans, soils,
lakes, and rivers.
7. How does DDT enter a food web?
Plankton eat it, fish eat the plankton, big fish eat the small fish,
birds eat the fish. This process is call bio accumulation.
8. Explain why animals/organisms at the top of a food chain are

particularly at risk from poisons in the environment.
Because they eat all the animals, which include high amounts of
chemicals, from the things they have eaten.
