we’re met by our Irish Driver/Guide. We hit breakfast, then continue to Galway, an
ancient, artsy college town home to many artists, writers, and musicians. Galway
is the unofficial art capital of Ireland. On the way to our hotel we’ll stop at the
beautiful Galway Cathedral (it’s pretty incredible). We’ll have the night to explore
and catch some amazing live Irish music, and we’ll spend the night downtown at
the Imperial Hotel Galway.
Aran Islands (optional). After a full (free) Irish Breakfast, enjoy an optional tour
of The Aran Islands. Inis Mór is the largest of the three Aran Islands, boasting
about 900 inhabitants. There are minibuses as well as horses and carts to show
people around. We return to Galway in the afternoon for another night on the
town. There’s world-class live music in Galway’s pubs every single night! Those
not taking the Aran Islands tour will have a free day in Galway. We’ll finish the
night once again at the Imperial Hotel Galway.
Galway- Cliffs of Moher- Killarney. Today after breakfast we’ll visit Ireland’s
stony place - the Burren (Bhoireann). It’s home to rare alpine plants, gentians,
orchids and maidenhair ferns. The Burren contains dozens of megalithic tombs,
Celtic crosses and a ruined Cistercian Abbey dating from the 12th century. You
can find villages abandoned since famine times and green roads on which you can
walk for miles without ever seeing a car. Next we’ll head to the breathtaking Cliffs
of Moher. The cliffs, a spectacular natural phenomenon, rise 660 feet above the
Atlantic. From the top of the Cliffs you can see the Aran Islands, as well as The
Twelve Pins and the Maum Turk Mountains to the north in Connemara. As we
leave the cliffs we’ll travel through the village of Liscannor, and we finish up the
day in Killarney. Group Dinner & Overnight Killarney International Hotel.
Killarney- Dingle- Killarney. After breakfast we depart Killarney for the Dingle
Peninsula. The drive to Dingle boasts some of the most magnificent scenery in all
of Ireland. The fishing boats in the Dingle harbor and tiny brightly painted pubs
are straight out of a postcard. The town has a population of only 1500 (served by
52 pubs!), and the native seafood chowder with freshly baked brown breadis
worth the wait. We continue on to Slea Head. Along the way, we’ll see bee hive
style huts, originally inhabited by 12th century monks, which overlook the rugged
Blasket Islands. Overnight Killarney International Hotel.

Killarney-Cashel-Kilkenny. After breakfast we leave Killarney and travel north,
stopping at Cashel where we’ll stop to check out the Rock of Cashel. This is one
of Ireland's most spectacular landmarks. The large Cathedral, ancient round tower
and Cormac's Chapel, perched on a dramatic outcrop of rock, witnessed many of
the pivotal events of Irish History. St. Patrick converted the local King Aenghus
here in the 5th century, and Brian Boru was crowned Hig King of Ireland on this
spot in the early 11th Century. We continue to the medieval city of Kilkenny,
where we enjoy an optional visit to Kilkenny Castle. From here we head to

Lyrath Estates. This beautiful 5-Star escape, which lies on 170 acres of parkland
on the edge of Kilkenny City, boasts all kinds of fantastic modern luxuries within a
beautiful Georgian mansion. Group Dinner & Overnight Lyrath Estates.
Kilkenny-Dublin. Leaving the Estates, we make our way through the Wicklow
Mountains to visit Glendalough, the 6th century home of St. Kevin, surrounded by
beautiful mountains and gardens. We’ll stop at the Avoca Woolen Mills, where we
can shop and enjoy lunch. We continue on to the 1000-year-old city of Dublin
where we’ll have Saturday evening to explore (and take over the Temple Bar
district). Overnight at the Camden Court Hotel.
Dublin. Today is a free day in Dublin. If you grab a Hop On/Hop Off Dublin Bus
Pass, you'll see St. Patrick’s Cathedral where Jonathan Swift gave his sermons
and the Post Office on O’Connell Street, the scene of the 1916 Easter Uprising
where bullet-holes remain to this day. Check out historic Trinity College to view
the 8th century Book of Kells, still preserved as it was when the monks produced
it centuries ago. Drop by the Guinness Storehouse for a guided tour and enjoy a
pint on the top floor with a 360 degree panoramic view of the city. Dublin is a

city and a great place to finish up our trip. Overnight at the

Dublin-USA. After breakfast we’re transferred to nearby Dublin Airport to catch
our flights back to the USA.
