Today we say “Goodbye” and THANK YOU! to
Miss Friend, who has been our teacher for the last
eight weeks. We’ve learned so much from her,
reading, math, writing, and of course – BIRDS!
On May 17th, Miss Friend will graduate from Martin
Luther College and be assigned to a WELS
classroom somewhere in the U.S. As she begins
her teaching ministry we wish her God’s most
wonderful blessings and that He will always walk
with her and guide her!
graduation piece for June 1st. The upper graders
will have to supply the alto line, so we will be drilling
for the big final gig.
And don’t forget. Wednesday will be the
class trip to Chicago! Lots to do!

For the 2008 Law Day Poster Contest
sponsored by the Jefferson County Courthouse, we
had 3 winners: Olivia Prost received 1st place for
her portrayal of what life would be like in our
country, if we did not have specific laws to protect
our rights and freedoms. Abbey Jaeger received
2nd place for her illustration of one of the freedoms
we enjoy because of the 1st Amendment to the
Constitution – the Freedom of Religion. And 3rd
place went to Kaitlin Lange who depicted on her
poster another freedom we Americans have
because of the 1st Amendment – the Freedom of
the Press. Congratulations to all three winners. A
job well done!
3rd & 4th graders will be singing for Mother’s

Please have your child meet me in the church

songs, warm up our voices, and get seated in front
of the church by 7:45. Thanks
Happy Mother’s Day to all the Moms!

our study will be a check-up on what we eat in
general on a weekend, followed by a research
project on the diets of different cultures. With all
the possible health threats in the world, we all need
to practice good health habits.
More and more people are coming home in
the big Math Race. It may be that some students
will come up a little short, but the margin will not be
great. Keep you informed as the last seconds of
this race are ticking off to the last ones.
