Rosencrantz and Guildenstern are Dead, presented as part of the Lightning Strike Inc & Spotlight
Theatre Company's co-productions for Fringe 2006 chronicles the tale of Hamlet as told from the
worm's-eye view of the bewildered Rosencrantz and Guildenstern, two minor characters in
Shakespeare's classic. Comments and questions bounce back and forth like tennis balls in this Tony
Award™ winning play from the author of Shakespeare in Love.

This play was hailed as a modern dramatic masterpiece immediately on its first viewing in the
Edinburgh Fringe festival of 1966 and now, 40 years on, is still as cleverly wicked and surprisingly
topical as it ever was.
Taking the characters Rosencrantz and Guildenstern, two minor characters in Shakespeare's
Hamlet, Stoppard filters them through the existential sensibilities of Samuel Beckett's Waiting for
Godot to a truly hilarious result.
