Welcome to the 33rd running of the S.A. Cup, to be held on the 1st and 2nd of July, at AMF Cross
Road Bowl, Cnr Goodwood & Cross Roads Westbourne Park, South Australia.

The SA Cup is a scratch event open to all TBA Registered Bowlers.
This is a TBA Nationally Ranked Tournament and all TBA Rules and Regulations apply. This includes the
requirement for bowlers to present their 2017 TBA Registered Players Card at check-in for their qualifying round.
Registration for this event can only be done via the TenpinSA website. See the “Registrations” section on
the last page for more information.
All female bowlers entering the event will receive 8 pins handicap per game (including tie-breaker games).
No bowler is permitted to have more than one entry in this event.
A $50 non-refundable deposit must be paid to secure your position in your desired squad.
Bowlers must wear neat and acceptable attire. Trousers, skirts or shorts must be tailored.
The tournament director reserves the right to check any bowler’s equipment at any stage during the
tournament. Any equipment found to breach TBA regulations will result in that bowler being disqualified
from the tournament, forfeiting any prize money.
No bowler will be permitted to smoke or consume alcohol during the tournament.
Any appeals or protests must be lodged with the Tournament Director within 30 minutes of the alleged infringement.
Ties
a. In the event of a tie for 18th position after Stage 1, a one game tie-breaker will be held.
b. In the event of a tie for 5th position at the completion of Stage 2, a one game tie-breaker will be held.
c. In the event of a tie for any of top 5 positions at the completion of Stage 2, a 10th frame roll-off will be held.
b. If there is a tie for any elimination final game, then a further one-game roll off will be held.
c. If there is still a tie after any of the tie-breaker games, a 10th frame roll-off will be held.
Any bowler not checked-in by 9:00am for Stage 2 will be replaced by the highest available reserve.
Any matters not covered in the conditions above will be referred to the tournament director,
whose decision will be final.
Entries will be accepted until squads are full.
No refunds will be issued for bowlers withdrawing from the tournament after play as commenced.

Qualifying Format
Stage 1 – Saturday 1st of July
All bowlers will bowl 10 qualifying games in their respective squads, moving one pair of lanes
after the completion of each game. At the completion of the final squad on Day 1, the field will
be cut to the top 18 bowlers.
Stage 2 – Sunday 2nd of July, 9:00am
The top 18 bowlers will bowl a further 10 games with pinfall carrying over, moving one pair of
lanes after each game.
Stage 3 - Sunday 2nd of July, 12:00pm
The top 5 bowlers will bowl a single game elimination final; 5th vs 4th, winner vs 3rd, winner vs
2nd, winner vs 1st. There will be no repechage. The bowler who wins the last match of Stage 3
will be declared the 2017 S.A. Cup Champion. Champion will receive prize money, Trophy and
entry into the 2018 SA Cup.
Bowling Ball Bonus
The highest placed South Australian* bowler
outside the top 18 after the completion of the
two qualifying squads will win a bowling ball
of their choice up to the value of $300.
