Enabling Proof-ofPlay Logging at the
‘Content’ Level
1 Update the targeted site’s play list with the designated content.
2 Select the targeted content.

3 Right-click to access the content’s Properties dialog.
4 Select the Log Play check box
5 Click OK to save your changes to the content properties.

1 Select the targeted Site within Design Studio.
2 Access the Site Properties interface for the targeted site.
3 Select the Log Content Play Times check box.
4 Save your changes to the site properties.
5 Update the targeted Broadcast Site.

Accessing the
POPpy Database
1 Login to the SQL database server.
2 Access the Microsoft SQL Server Management Studio via
Program Files.
3 Expand the Databases tree node.
4 Verify that a POPpy entry appears within the listing.

5 Expand the Tables node under the POPpy DB to access specific
Columns.

Configuring POPpy
at the SES server
1 Launch the Windows Control Panel.
2 Select Performance and Maintenance.
3 Select Administrative Tools.
4 Select Services.
5 Scroll down the list of services and verify that the
SymonPOPService is started.

6 From the Start menu on the SES server, select All Programs/
Symon Enterprise Server/Proof-of-Play Admin.

7 Once Symon Proof-of-Play Admin loads, open the File menu and
select Connect.
8 From the SES Servers dialog, click Add to add the designated SES
server.
9 Enter the name or IP address of the server and a description of
the server.

10 Click OK. Symon Proof-of-Play Admin adds the server to the list
of SES servers.
11 Click Connect to connect to the designated server. Symon Proof-
of-Play Admin displays the available SDAs from the server.

1 From the list of SDAs, click on the targeted SDA
2 Select the ‘Connection String’ property.

button. The Data Link Properties appear.

4 From the Provider tab, select SQL Native Client and click Next.
The Connection properties fpr the data link appear.
5 For the Data Source enter the name of the Microsoft SQL Server.
6 For the User name, enter poppyreader
7 For the Password, enter public.

8 For the initial catalog to use, select POPpy from the drop-down
list.
9 Click Test Connection.
10 Click OK to save the properties and close the window.

1 From the list of SDAs in Symon Proof-of-Play Admin, select the
targeted SDA.
2 Set the Enabled property to True.

3 From the File menu, select Save to save your modification.

Setting Up Report
Options via the
SQL Server 2005
1 Install SQL Server 2005 Reporting services.
2 Launch the SQL Reporting interface: http://<Report Server
Name>/reports.
3 At the browser display: Select New Data Source.

4 In the Name field, type Symon POP Datasource.
5 Select the Enable this data source check box.
6 From the Connection type drop-down list, select Microsoft SQL
Server.
7 For the Connection String, type the following within the text box:
Persist Security Info=True;Initial Catalog=POPpy;Data
Source=<SQL Server Name>;

8 Select the Credentials Stored securely in the report server
option.
9 For the User Name, type <POPpyReader>
10 For the user credential Password, type <public>.
11 Click OK to save the modifications.

Verifying that a POP Report can be obtained through the SQL
Server 2005 reporting interface
1 Access the SQL Reporting Services homepage: <SQL
ServerName/reports>
2 Verify that the Symon POP Datasource has been configured and
is enabled.
3 At the browser display, select Upload File.
4 Use the Browse button to navigate to and select all .rdl reports
from your Symon POP CD.
5 Click OK to upload the files.
