Term 2016
Music with Mrs Mills
Exploration of the 7 key Musical
Elements: Duration, Dynamics, Pitch,
Tempo, Texture, Structure and Timbre
through a wide variety of musical
challenges using our voices and
instruments to listen, create, perform
and reflect.
French with Mrs Mills
We will be learning to read, pronounce
and remember some key vocabulary and
facts about French Schools and also
about The Planets.
Science
Sound – explore and identify how sound
is made in a range of musical
instruments; investigate how the pitch
and volume of a sound can be changed
and explore how sound travels.
Light – children will explore what
happens when light reflects; think
about why it is important to protect
our eyes from bright lights; look for,
and measure, shadows, and find out how
they are formed and what might cause
them to change.
Electricity-children will construct
simple series circuits whilst
experimenting with different
components such as buzzers, bulbs and
motors and their impact on the circuit
and identify appliance that run on
electricity.
PE
Y3 – swimming
Y4 – Football skills including passing,
receiving, dribbling, using different
body parts to pass the ball
Class PE – Hockey skills including
dribbling, passing, receiving defending,
and attacking whilst accurately holding
and using a hockey stick.
