Minimum fee is $67 for license. - Carry Responsibly. - Renew license after 5 year; no renewal training is required. 4 Complete the Training 6 Additional Training - Arrive early for the training and bring the required materials. - The Ohio Concealed Carry Training is a basic pistol course. Complete Armed2Defend’s class for the Ohio required training. 2. Fill out the application, review the Ohio Attorney General Concealed Carry Law Summary, and schedule and appointment with your county or an adjoining county sheriff’s office. 3. Arrive to your appointment on time and turn in the application and the license fee ($67). If you have not lived in Ohio for the past 5 years, then the sheriff will charge an additional $24 for an FBI background check. 4. Pick up the license when the sheriff calls to let you know your license is ready. 5. Renew your license every 5 years using the same application process. There is no renewal training required. License Requirements: In order to get the license you have to meet these qualifications: Must be at least 21 years old when applying for the license (you can take the training when you are 18 since you have 3 years to apply for the license). Complete the Ohio Concealed Carry Training which includes the requirements described in sections 2923.125 (G) (1) of the Ohio Revised Code and pass the competency examination described in section 2923.125 (G) (2) of the Ohio Revised Code. Armed2Defend’s Ohio Concealed Carry Training class is guaranteed to meet all of the Ohio Concealed Carry training requirements. Summary of the Ohio License Disqualifiers: You cannot obtain the Ohio Concealed Handgun License if you have any of the following convictions or pending cases in Ohio or in any other state unless if the record was sealed or expunged: Any felony Any drug related misdemeanor (you maybe able to get the Arizona or Florida license to carry in Ohio) Any misdemeanor offense of violence or charge of domestic violence Any misdemeanor of violence within 3 years Any misdemeanor of possessing of a revoked or suspended concealed handgun license within 3 years Any resisting arrest within 10 years And pending assault or negligent assault charges Any 2 or more assault or negligent assault misdemeanors within 5 years Any assaulting a peace officer This summary is provided as a guide and not to be considered the complete list of disqualifiers for the license. It is your responsibility to make sure that you do not have any disqualifiers before attending the class and/or applying for the license. The best way to verify your eligibility is to contact your county’s sheriff’s office. Ohio Concealed Carry Training Please be sure to review this packet before the training. These items are not necessary required but just help to prepare you for the class. Register for one of Armed2Defend’s upcoming class dates and review the class date specifics. Begin filling out the application. Make a list of any legal questions to ask Attorney Ken Hanson at the training. Review and gather the list of suggested items to bring to the training. You don’t need to practice or study for the class; we’ll teach everything that is needed at the class. Day of the Training: These are the items that you are required to bring to the training: Government issued ID (Driver’s license, State ID, Passport…). Class fee balance (if you still owe anything). Either pack food and drinks or bring money to purchase lunch and dinner. Review class date for specifics. If you are bringing your own pistol, then you’ll be required to provide at least 50 rounds of ammunition for it. You can either bring this ammo or you can purchase it at the range. Armed2Defend will supply 22 lr ammunition for the training at no additional fee. These are the optional items to bring to the training: Pen and paper to take notes. Highlighters and post-it notes are also recommended. Ten copies of one of these targets. Right handed version. Left handed version. (shoot from 15 ft) An unloaded pistol in a closed bag or case and at minimum 50 rounds of ammunition for it. If you do not have a pistol, do not purchase one before the training. Armed2Defend’s range doesn’t have any restrictions on the ammunition as long as it is safe to shoot. Money or credit cards for optional items. Armed2Defend charges a 3% processing fee for credit card transactions. After the Training: After the training you’ll apply for your license through your county or an adjoining county sheriff’s office. Here are the links for the items needed to register.
