a B- minimum cumulative grade point average.

Alexion Scholarship (reapplicants only)
For students planning to focus on teaching learning-disabled children
For continued support of full-time students that received an Alexion
scholarship in the previous year (and are pursuing an undergraduate
degree without interruption)
For continued support of students that received an Andersen
scholarship in the previous year
For residents or natives of Waterbury that are studying nursing
For graduating seniors of Thomaston High School
For students attending the University of Pennsylvania
$5,000 award for high school graduates that have maintained an
academic average of “B” or better and reside in Cheshire, Middlebury,
Naugatuck, Prospect, Thomaston, Waterbury, Watertown or Wolcott

For students attending a college in the southeastern U.S.
For students that have participated in formal tennis activities within
the Foundation’s 21-town service area
For female students pursuing a career in the field of law
For graduating high school students residing in Thomaston
For graduates of a Waterbury public high school (Crosby, Wilby,
Kennedy, Arts Magnet School, or Career Academy), residing in
Waterbury, that have maintained an academic average of 85 or better
For students of Italian descent that have maintained an academic
average of “A” (90) or better

or music education, with preference for schools with a strong or

For graduating residents of Middlebury demonstrating above-average
involvement in community service

H. D. Segur and Friends Scholarship *
Merit-based award for entering college freshmen recommended by
any HD Segur client. Students may reside anywhere in Connecticut.

For children or step-children of an SMA member company employee,
residing in Connecticut
For graduating seniors from Pomperaug High School (preferably with

For graduating residents of Southbury with financial need and a
record of significant community service
Barbara M. Southworth Scholarship
For residents of Bridgewater or Brookfield majoring in elementary
education
For graduates of Wilby High School ranked in top 5% of their class;
students must be committed to racial tolerance and understanding
For undergraduate or graduate students studying or planning to
study architecture
For students pursuing a degree in music, preferably in piano or voice
For male graduates of Kaynor Vocational Technical School with a love
of the outdoors and mechanical aptitude
For residents of Warren graduating from high school
For Waterbury residents planning to attend a public college in
Connecticut, with demonstrated exemplary community service
For students majoring in nursing
For Waterbury residents attending the University of Connecticut
For students graduating from Pomperaug High School that intend to
pursue a career in Special Education for children with intellectual,
physical, or other disabilities (including students planning to study
physical or occupational therapy or speech pathology)
