“The Production of Bamboo Charcoal”
The production of bamboo charcoal is the continuum enterprise which collect the bamboo
joint residue from chopstick production station in Pah Pung Sub-district and close
community for 10 tons/day to produce 3 tons/day of bamboo charcoal to be the sample of
environmental management, reduction of residue burning and transform to creating shared
value (CSV). This is the clean energy to substitute the usage of LPG and able to absorb the
expense and provide the income for community and also be the sample of fully burning of
agricultural residue because bamboo charcoal has the porous structure, the dank smell will
diffuse to these pores and be absorbed through walls and pores. The higher pores will
possess more capacities of absorption. Bamboo charcoal in Japanese is Takezumi which is
flavored to use in decoration, deodorizing, moisture removal, discharge negative ions and
far infrared ray that all are useful for the health. It is allowed to drop in canal or river to
reduce the destruction of water, treat waste water, increase the minerals such as calcium,
potassium and magnesium.
Production of Bamboo Charcoal:
1. High quality charcoal is produced by cold-pressed process by mixing bamboo
charcoal powder with water and tapioca starch. Then pass through screw extruder
and take a sun to remove the moist. Then move to oven and dry to be 5% of
moisture or below.
2. High quality charcoal is produced by hot-pressed process by heating the bamboo
sawdust in oven before sending to screw extruder. When it is formed as briquette,
burnt by burner at very high temperature again. The material used in hot-pressed
process is bamboo sawdust. Once it is compressed by heat, the internal matter will
be extend itself and let it form as briquette with out any adhesive but the extruder
must be hot compressive type.

White charcoal, in Japanese is Bincho Tan or Bincho-Zumi. It is higher quality charcoal than
the regular which burnt at around 1,000 degree Celsius. We will notice that the external skin
of charcoal is pale white like ash, this is the reason to call “white charcoal”. When break it,
we will see the glossy black at the broken joint, this is reflected to the strength and when we
knock it, it will make a clear sonorous sound like a metal.
Usage
White charcoal has higher heat capacity than charcoal briquette and other wooden
charcoal. It is able to stay for many hours, smokeless, no pollution or has which may be

There are 100,000 sprouts/year managed by Bamboo sprout cultivation community
enterprise of Pah Pung
Foundation of Pah Pung community development prepare for seeding 100,000 sprouts/year
by divided the participation in the practice to be 2 types; operation and responsibility of
foundation for 20,000 sprouts/year (Learning Center) and operation by members of five
villages’ community networks in Pah Pung Sub-district which responsible for 80,000 sprouts.
The objective is to prepare for the cultivation in area of Pah Pung Sub-district for 500
rais/year and in the cooperative project area of Lampang Province for 500 rais/year.

Asking for the permission to preserve and look after the 1,000 rais community forest of
village no. 1-5 at Pah Pung Sub-district together with Lampang Province (PNRE)

Lampang Province for 500 rais/year in 5 years continously
Cultivation of bamboos on the ownership land/ ALRO of member network in Pah Pung Subdistrict and close communities in Mae Prik District, Tern District with total of 538 rais which
be useful and produce the revenue nowadays
