I. Over the summer the following chemical elements need to be memorized. Only the name (correct spelling) and the
chemical symbol listed below are required. It is recommended you make flash cards for each by cutting a 3” X 5” note
st
card in 1/2 and write the name on one side and the symbol on the other. There will be a Summer Assignment Quiz the 1
week of school next year.
Elements 1-30 PLUS * Br2 , Kr, Ag. Sn, *I2, Ba, Au, Hg, Pb and U.
* There are 7 Diatomic molecules that are found naturally or in their “elemental” state as a pair (twins). You need to label
these 7 with the subscript 2:
H2, N2, O2. F2, Cl2. Br2, I2
(HELP: to remember the 7…Start at 7 (on the periodic table) and make a 7…PLUS H2)

Convert miles/hour to meters/second
