V. Livermore - The Bourne Academy

Dear Parent/Carer
Re: Year 7, 8 and 9 Food
I hope that your son/daughter will enjoy this subject and I would like to take this opportunity
to inform you of the system we have adopted for the provision of ingredients for practical
lessons.
Students have a one-hour Food lesson each week and they cook once every second or third
week.
Rather than ask you to provide the ingredients for the practical lessons, the Bourne Academy
will purchase all the necessary ingredients, to reduce waste and keep costs down, as well as
giving every student the opportunity to participate in practical work. However, we would ask
that a voluntary contribution towards the cost of the food ingredients of £5 a term is made.
This can be made in termly installments of £5 or a one-off payment of £15. Please make
payment with cash or cheque (made payable to ‘The Bourne Academy’) and return it to
either reception or the Finance Office in an envelope with your son/daughter’s name on the
front.
Students will be required to provide a suitable container to take their food home in. Please
ensure that your son/daughter has a suitable container so that you may sample and enjoy
the dishes they make.
Thank you for supporting your son/daughter with their Home Learning for Food.
Yours sincerely
V. Livermore
