July 4th Parades were very good and the turnout was great at both
the Carmel and Noblesville Parades. Many thanks to those who
attended and helped.
Hamilton County War Mem’l Crownland Cemetery – Ron – We
have been in discussion with the Cemetery about adding a light and
flag pole so we will need about $1,800.00 more to do this. We will
not be moving the Memorial back but there is room for about 90
more cremation lots. The stones are about on their way!!
Indy Honor Flight Sept 7 - Ron – The Indy Honor Flight is always
looking for volunteers and help in rising funds so we may continue to
Honor Our Heroes. Our flight for our WWII & Korean War Veterans is
Sept 7 as we take them to Washing DC to see their Memorials. We
have medical assistance along the way and we will transport them to
and from the airport. It is a long day from 6am to about 11:30pm.
You can fill out the forms on the HCV website or go to their site and
sign up or donate. http://www.indyhonorflight.org/.
Veteran Benefit Work Shop Ron - 7 November, 2013 10 am we
are still making plans to hold this event at the Fishers Public Library.
Put it on your calendar as we will be disseminating a lot of Veteran
info that you and your spouse will want to hear.
Ramps for Our Disabled Veterans – We have an anonymous
business partner who has offered to build special ramps inside and
outside the homes of our disabled veterans here in Hamilton County
and Madison County. If you know of any Veteran with this
need, please send the contact name, phone number/email
address and special need to Ron Wilson
[email protected] and he will be in
touch....
K9 Vests Final Report - We helped raise $3,875.00 to purchase 3
vests for Noblesville Police Dogs.
There are no more tickets for the July Baseball game but we
will be getting some for the Aug 30th game if anyone else is
interested. See Ron
Pearl Harbor Remembrance Day is Dec 7, 2013 in the Noblesville
City Hall at 11am. This will be again a great ceremony and we will
again be presenting the Pearl Harbor drawings from the kids at
Noblesville Schools and they are always awesome! Thank You.

New Membership Cards – Lynn has them if you don’t have your
2013 card yet.
VA Hospital Drivers Needed – Ron is now fully certified but we
still need more drivers so Hamilton County will have their own Van.
We would like to get 12 drivers to volunteer here in Hamilton County
so we can alternate our times for driving Veterans downtown to the
VA Hospital from Hamilton County. If we get the drivers needed we
could have a Van here all the time to do this daily!! If you are
interested please let Ron know as it takes about 90 days to get
trained
New Business:

Defibrillators for the Noblesville Police Dept – The Masonic
Lodge is trying to raise the money ($1,500.00) so our Police can have
a defib. The HCV voted to donate $50.00.
Bean Supper anyone? – Should we consider another bean supper
this fall or next spring? We will shoot for one in the spring of 2014 so
let’s be thinking about raising some funds and or acquiring the
products to make the supper as good as our last one or better.
Sept 28th Veterans Remembrance Day – 4pm-9pm at the
American Legion Mall downtown. The Speedway Young Marines will
be Honoring our Hoosier Fallen Heroes as they lift off 445 luminaries
at dusk with the names of our Fallen and a prayer attached to each
luminary. It will be an awesome event so tell everyone to be there,
please.
