Tumbling Team Goals:
 To create a safe positive learning experience through preparation and competition.
 To build positive self esteem by setting and achieving personal goals in a competitive
atmosphere.
 To help achieve skill development in a safe and productive environment, as well as
giving each child the opportunity to excel in tumbling and trampoline to achieve their
goals.
 To give every member the understanding of “team” and prepare them to the be a
productive member of our team.
 To instill a trust in each child, a love of physical fitness and competition in sports.
 To build a positive program that will grow with the children as well as X-Treme
Tumbling and Trampoline. By showing good sportsmanship, professional
appearance and excellence in competition, we aim to build our teams stature at all
skill levels at both the State and National levels.
Attitudes:
 There is no place on this team for negative attitudes, comments, or inappropriate
behavior. (Please note that inappropriate behavior includes excessive criticism of
team mates, disrespect toward coaches, parents or other members of the team,
comments and actions that are hurtful to other team members or the team as a whole.)
We will not tolerate or condone any of these types of behaviors from team members
or their parents. Failure to abide by these principals by either team member or parent
is sufficient grounds for the member to BE REMOVED FROM THE PROGRAM.
Traveling and punctuality to Competitions:
 Parents are responsible for getting their athletes to the competition 45 minutes
ahead of the listed warm up time. If the athlete is late (meaning their group has
already begun warm-ups) they will not be allowed to compete according to the
rules of the USTA. To ensure that this does not happen, it is suggested that you
arrive 1 hour ahead of the listed warm up time for you athlete.
Competitions:
 Each competition has an entry fee (this excludes the State Championship and
National Championship meets). One event is $21, two events $31, three events $41.
Due to the new rule of requiring a universal entry form to be filled out and submitted
by the club, there will be a $1 processing fee per meet, reflected in the entry fees
above.
 Athletes tuition covers coaching at 5 USTA meets (3 USTA meets for beginner
team). Those wishing to attend more than the allotted are welcome to do so, but will
have an additional $10 fee per competition (in addition to entry fees). Athletes are
not required to compete all three events at each meet, you may pick and choose which
events you wish to compete. Athletes planning to attend USTA Nationals (June 1620th 2015-Rapid City, South Dakota) must attend the USTA State Meet

(Marshalltown, IA –April 18th-19th) and qualify top 10 or top 33% (if more than 30
athletes) in their age group/level.
Competition SIGN-UP: When we receive each meet flyer, we will send out the
information to you, including a sign-up deadline. A “SIGN-UP” sheet will be placed
on the table at the gym. It is the responsibility of the parent to sign-up your athlete
for listed competitions on time. Deadlines will be followed strictly. If athlete is not
written down on the sign-up sheet (or an email was not sent to add the athlete to the
sign-up and make clear when payment will be received), the student will not attend
that competition or late fees will be added to the entry. Payment MUST be made
along with sign-up. If payment is not submitted with your athlete sign-up (and other
arrangements have not been made), your athlete will not be entered in the meet.
Please keep in mind, athletes not current on their account will not be entered into
competitions (email notification will be sent).
Competition Attire rules:






Athletes are required to have appropriate attire for practice as well as competition.
Practice: Female athletes must wear a leotard. Shorts may be worn with said leotard,
and or fitted pants (no lose fitting pants). Boys may wear athletic clothing (slightly
form fitting). Competition: All female team members are required to have a team
competition leotard. Boys will wear a step-in with shorts for double-mini and pants
for trampoline.
Trampoline shoes or socks must be worn on trampoline and double mini. Socks must
be ALL white and not come above the ankle bone.
Undergarments cannot show. Sports bras MUST be nude if showing.
Absolutely no jewelry may be worn (this includes hair ties on wrists). Jewelry worn
will result in deductions.
Hair ties must be secure (ribbon hair ties are allowed but must stay in). If bobby pins
are used, know you are at a risk of deductions if they fall out during competition.
Hair must be completely out of the face for girls and boys. Bangs must be above the
eyebrows.
Rules of Presentation/Behavior:
Athletes
 It is the policy of X-Treme Tumbling and Trampoline that members present
themselves in a mature and appropriate manner at all meets, team events and
practices.
 Athletes will demonstrate good sportsmanship to all team members, judges and all
other competitors/teams.
 Athletes will dress appropriately at all meets, this includes wearing appropriate team
attire.
 All athletes will accept victory or defeat with dignity. If you breakdown or cry,
athletes needs to move to private place and vent any frustrations there.
 Athletes must present themselves in an appropriate manner, both inside and outside of
the gym.
Parent Expectations at the gym and competitions:
 Parents are not allowed on the competition floor. This includes approaching judges,
other coaches, video taping, etc.
 It is NOT the parents’ job to coach their child either at practice or at a meet. You are
paying the club to provide that service.
 It IS the parents’ responsibility to present themselves in an appropriate manner at
meets as well as in the gym. This includes but not limited to: showing good
sportsmanship, controlling your actions and emotions no matter the results, being
courteous and respectful of others as well as the program, supporting other athletes on
our team, and keeping a positive attitude.
 Any concerns or questions that parents may have regarding team organization or
actions need to be brought to the attention of Leah Phipps. I will then take the
appropriate actions to alleviate your concerns or problems.
 Parents need to have patience and understanding at meets. Meets will run behind and
while this is frustrating, there is little that we can do about it. Also keep in mind that
at each meet it is parents, like you, volunteering to make the meet happen (so treat
them as you wish to be treated…you will likely be in similar positions at our own
host meet)!
Alcohol, Tobacco and Other Drugs
 X-Treme Tumbling and Trampoline does not tolerate the use of drugs, alcohol or
tobacco by its athletes. If you are caught using alcohol, tobacco or drugs you will be
subject to probation or dismissal from the team. All involved parents and team
members will be called in to discuss the proper disciplinary action in such an event.

Competition Rules, Tips, and Information













The competitor’s hair must be up and away from the face. A ponytail must not reach around to
the cheek.
No earrings or any other jewelry, including hair ties around the wrists.
No tattoos showing (real or play).
Bra must either not show or be NUDE in color.
Tramp and DM competitors - Must wear tramp shoes or socks, they may be white, off white or
nude in color. If socks are worn they must stay BELOW the ankle.
When competitor is on the awards podium – they must be in competition attire. NO warm-ups or
street shoes.
Arrive 45-60 minutes prior to your listed warm-up time.
There will be a table at the entrance of all competitions with the competitor’s
event/age/flight/number. The competitor must write their number on their hand with the markers
at the table. If more than one event – use initials of the event with the number. For example – a
double mini event you would put ‘DM – XXXX’ with the x’s being the competitor’s number.
Sometimes a competitor will be called for two events at the same time or for the next event when
they are still competing on another. The coach will then tell the official that the competitor is on
another event and they WILL hold the event for this competitor.
Sometimes a competitor will be called for an event when they are in the awards room. They will
NOT hold competition for the competitor to get an award. Normally they will wait for the award
ceremony if a competitor is competing on another event.
NO FLASH PHOTOGRAPHY DURING COMPETITION. You can use flash in the awards
room. If you DO use flash you may be approached and asked to stop. This is for the safety of the
athletes so they won’t be distracted when competing.
Listen carefully for your athlete to be called for warm-ups. When they are called for warm-ups
they will proceed to a separate warm up room or directly to the floor to stretch out. Double-Mini
and Trampoline usually stretch out right next to the Trampoline or Double-Mini and then,
depending on their skill level, they get to practice their passes a set number of times before they
compete. Trampoline and Double-Mini often alternate a competitor and a warm-up, so it can be
confusing at first. For tumbling, they sometimes stretch in a different warm up room it depending
on the meet, so they will either stretch in a separate room or on the floor next to the tumbling
mats. Tumblers depending on skill level also get to practice their passes a set number of times
before they compete.
If you have any concerns contact via phone or text: Leah (402-321-1867) at anytime!

HOW TO MEASURE
The First step in finding the prefect fit is taking the correct measurements.
Measurements should be taken wearing a leotard (long sleeve if possible)
A. Girth: taken from the shoulder, down the front, through the crotch, and up
the back to the starting point.
B. Chest: taken with a deep breath, arms out to the side.
C. Waist: taken at the natural waistline (narrowest part of torso).
D. Hip: taken around the fullest part of the buttocks.
E. Under Arm: with arm straight out to the side, measure from the underarm
crease all the way down to the wrist (cuff if wearing a proper fitting long
sleeve leotard while measuring).
F. Bicep: with arm down measure around the upper arm/bicep area.
Important Dreamlight Sizing Tips
*Dreamlight sizes are based on commercial clothing sizes and run 1-2 sizes larger
than other
leotard manufacturers.
*If measurements fall between sizes, use the smaller size for a tighter, competition
fit or the larger size for growing room.
*Select the row of measurements that best represents your size. If all your
measurements do not fall
within the same row, use the row that best
represents most importantly your girth, then chest, then hips.
