QUICK REFERENCE GUIDE
CO2 HOSE CONNECTIONS
CONNECTION TO A CO2 SUPPLY TANK:
•
Remove protective cap from the CO2 input port on the back of the
insufflator. Attach the High Pressure Hose and Yoke (REF 710603) or
DIN 477 High Pressure Hose (REF 390513) to the insufflator using a
9/16” open-ended wrench on the hose fitting, as shown in Figure A.
•
Verify that the plastic disc (Figure B) that creates the gas seal at the
CO2 supply tank is in place and free from defect.
•
If using the High Pressure Hose and Yoke (REF 710603), identify the
post valve yoke positioning holes on the CO2 supply tank (Tank not
provided with system), as shown in Figure C.

If using the High Pressure Hose and Yoke (REF 710603),
slide the Hose-Yoke assembly over the top of the post valve.

Align the two positioning pins from the Yoke with the two
locating holes from the CO2 supply tank post valve (Figure C).

Insert the pins into the locating holes and tighten the yoke on
the post valve.
•
If the CO2 supply tank is compatible with the DIN 477 High Pressure
Hose (REF 390513) shown in Figure D, align the hex nut with the male
thread on the CO2 supply tank and tighten.
•
Place a valve wrench (Figure E), or equivalent open-end/adjustable
wrench, on the valve stem as shown in Figure F.
•
Open CO2 supply tank approximately two rotations counterclockwise
with wrench (Figure F).
•
Before beginning a procedure, position the switch on the rear panel of
the device to “TANK” mode.
•
NOTE: Do not use any Teflon tape or thread sealing compounds on
any connection.

QUICK REFERENCE GUIDE
WARNING: Do not allow liquid CO2 to enter the unit. This can be prevented by assuring that the CO2
supply tank is maintained in a vertical upright position at all times. USE ONLY MEDICAL GRADE CO2
supply tanks. Do not open valve until hose connections are complete.
Tank designations vary by country. Please check with your local distributor for compatibility.
CONNECTION TO A CO2 CENTRAL SUPPLY:
•
The optional DISS High Pressure Hose (REF 710604) is required for connection to the CO2 gas
pipe line as shown in Figure G.

•
Attach and securely tighten the 7/16” (1.1cm) hose connector fitting
to the rear panel SAE 45° flare input port on the insufflator with a
wrench.
•
Be sure that the connector contains a washer to avoid leakage during
use.

•
Take the opposite end of the hose assembly and attach and securely
tighten the DISS connector to the CO2 gas source. Ensure that all
connections are tight.
•
When the hose assembly fittings are tight and secure at both ends, proceed to turn the gas supply
source on and allow gas to flow through the hose assembly to the insufflator.
•
Before beginning a procedure, position the switch on the rear panel of the insufflator to “WALL” mode.
NOTE: Do not use any Teflon tape or thread sealing compounds on any connection.
Before each use the following procedures or inspections should be performed: Visually inspect the insufflator
for external signs of damage. Inspect the electrical connections. Do not use if inspection reveals
damage. Before connecting the power cord to the wall outlet, make sure the main power switch is off
and that the voltage is correct. Inspect the connection to the CO2 supply tank or central supply, to
ensure that it is intact and properly connected.
