Expectations of Senior Players

At all times players are expected to follow the clubs Code of Conduct as stipulated Below;

This club is a “family oriented” club and all players are expected to act in a manner which upholds
these values.

Kellyville Ridge Cricket Club is a non profit organisation and relies heavily on the support of its
Members and Sponsors. As a result, all players are encouraged to support our sponsors and aid in
general duties as listed below:
o Milo In2Cricket is an 10 week program run on a Thursday night during Term 4 of the school year
from 6.00pm till 8.00pm for children aged between 5 and 10. Volunteers are required in order
to support the qualified Milo Coordinators to ensure the successful running of these nights. If
every registered player assists just once, this will ensure the success of this program and future
development of juniors for the club;
o Assistance in running the club raffle during the season. This is run on a Saturday Night from
6.30pm till 8.00pm at the Ettamogah Pub. Again, each team will be allocated a night on a grade
rotating roster. All monies received from this weekly raffle greatly contribute in financing the
club and help keep registration costs to a minimum;
o Supporting our major sponsor “The Ettamogah Pub” by returning to the pub after games when
possible and displaying the club colours. The club relies heavily on this sponsor to fund the
running of the Kellyville Ridge Cricket Club. By making our club presence felt, it ensures the pub
will continue to give us financial assistance. If all players return to the pub for even half an hour
after each game, the Clubs profile to the pubs management would increase significantly.
Players are provided an opportunity to receive a discount card, with proceeds from the
purchase of items at The Ettamogah Pub redirected to Kellyville Ridge Cricket Club.
o Participation and support of activities sanctioned by Kellyville Ridge Cricket Club. These may
include but not be limited to Season Presentation Night, McGrath Foundation Fundraising
Events, Junior and Senior Social events held throughout the year.
It should be noted that whilst Kellyville Ridge Cricket Club would never enforce these duties upon
players, team selection and club benefits are given on a preferred basis to those who do make the
effort to help out. Discounts on registration fees are also offered to players who have been deemed by
the Club Committee to have supported the club over and above expectations.

Whilst the Selection Committee will make every effort to place players in teams with family and
friends, this may not always be possible. The Selection Committee reserves the right to select squads
based on the selection criteria of which some examples are listed below:
o Family members and friends nominated for the same team must be deemed to have a
reasonable comparable ability to ensure teams are not graded too high for their ability and
players are not placed on restrictions by the Blacktown District Cricket Association;
o As the club has a duty of care to all players and supporters, no registered player will be graded
higher than is deemed safe for them to do so;
o Squads will be chosen to ensure an even coverage of player availability to ensure teams can
take the field with a minimum required number of players each week to be competitive.

Players must have played at least one previous season with the club to be eligible to be selected as
Captain for a team. Should a team be unable to meet this requirement, this team shall nominate for
their own permanent captain, and requires the Executive Committee and Senior Club Captain’s
approval prior to accepting the role.

The Executive Committee and the Senior Club Captain will appoint an interim team captain for each
team for the first three rounds after which the teams shall vote for their own permanent team captain.
The Executive Committee and Senior Club Captain reserve the right to decline the appointment of a
team Captain appointed by the players should this appointment be deemed inappropriate and not in
the best interests of the Kellyville Ridge Cricket Clubs image and integrity.
