E-Rate Option


Universal Service Administrative Co. Schools and Libraries
Program (a.k.a. E-rate Program) was designed to help
stimulate higher speed broadband adoption by schools, libraries
and consortium (E-rate eligible entities).
NECA’s ETS E-Rate Option (ERO) is consistent with FCC
policy goals for, “Modernizing the E-rate Program for Schools and
Libraries”

To qualify E-rate eligible entities must:


Meet the definition(s) in the FCC’s Part 54, Subpart F
rules and
Have an FCC Form 470 on USAC’s web site requesting
Category One Internet or data transmission services
that can be satisfied using tariffed ETS

Pertains to tariffed ETS elements, speeds and optional

Stabilizes monthly rates for the E-rate funding year

Available only to E-rate eligible entities

Does not extend to non-recurring charges

ETS ERO Features (cont.)

The ETS ERO customer can subscribe at any time during
the Plan Year



Commits to purchase new ETS service elements or
migrate any currently in-service ETS service elements
to pricing under the ETS ERO through the end of the
Plan Year
Discontinuance charges apply to each ETS rate element
provided under ETS ERO, if disconnected before the end of
the Plan Year
At end of plan year, another ETS ERO may be filed.
