GOT YOUR BACK Setup Instructions Open-back chairs Closed-back chairs For use in vehicles, carefully review special precautions and instructions for installing in vehicles on last page of this manual. Got Your Back (GYB): fabric cushion inflation straw + air valve ball Step 1 : Inflate Ball Use inflation straw to inflate the ball. This will "unstick" the sides of the ball. Step 2 : Deflate Ball (yes, really!) After inflating, deflate and flatten ball completely PRIOR to inserting into the fabric cushion Insert valve very securely Step 3 : Insert Ball Into Cushion With thumb and index finger keep hold of air valve and spread ball evenly inside fabric cushion. Step 4 : Inflate Ball and Insert Stopper Valve Re-inflate ball with straw through air valve to desired inflation level. You choose! Pancakes or souffle. Insert stopper valve very securely and store inflation straw in loop inside cushion, under zipper. Step 5 : Zip It Up! Close zipper carefully. Avoid snagging ball with zipper by using the "zip up and push down" strategy. Zip a small amount. Push ball down into cushion. Zip up a little more. Step 6: Adjust! Play! Explore! Test and adjust GYB inflation level by sitting with GYB behind your back. Adjust to different heights periodically. Explore movement, buoyancy and posture. The Straps : installing your gyb GYB side (horizontal) straps come with a dual adjustable buckle. When fitting around your chair, adjust tightness of side strap to ensure a snug fit, but not so tight they leave permanent marks on your furniture. GYB comes with two top (vertical) straps, 18" and 26". Depending on your chair, you may need only one. You can also join both straps together using the velcro portion to make a supersized top strap–41" with 3" velcro overlap. Length of top strap(s) is based on height of back of your chair and at what height you want GYB. Top Strap (vertical) : Your top strap comes equipped with a loop and hook velcro design. The loop is the fuzzy side of the velcro. Open back flap, and use velcro to secure in place. You can shorten or lengthen top strap. Lengthen by joining the two top straps together. Shorten by feeding a single strap through flap and secure one end into tab at bottom of cushion (see figure). Ensure the side strap buckle is in the center back of chair. Secure GYB at your desired height by looping top strap over the buckle, and then under, so that you can fix the end of the top strap unto itself with velcro. See figure. Closed Back Chairs Any closed back chair will need to use the horizontal (side) straps along with the vertical top strap. Place the buckle of side strap in the middle back. There are dual adjustments so you can adjust from both sides of the strap. Use the top strap to adjust the height of your GYB. Tidying Up Straps Note, there are 'strap keeper clips on the strap to neatly keep excess strap from 'flopping' down. If there is a lot of 'excess' side strap, you can double back the excess so that the strap keeper holds two layers of webbing. Open Backed Chairs : Open-backed chairs have two strap options. You can use one or two straps. It's up to you:) The Minimalist : No Side Straps Attach top strap around back of chair, and secure it unto itself with velcro. After securing strap to chair, open GYB back flap and slide the flap 'door' under the strap at the desired height, as shown at right. There is no 'wrong' way to attach straps. Even if there is a 'twist' in the top strap, it is okay as long as your straps are secure. Tip: Place a finger between strap and flap while sliding in place to avoid unintentional grabbing of Velcro. It's Versatile! Other styles of open-back chairs. There are literally thousands of different chair styles. GYB strap system will work with virtually all chairs with relatively straight backs. Installing in a vehicle : Safety is #1 Priority! Adjust inflation level of GYB's in carseats to ensure that your head is within car manufacturer's recommended distance to headrest after installing GYB. One strap horizontally around the seat and one over the top of seat and under the headrest. Place the second GYB cushion above GYB with side strap by opening flap and install onto vertical strap as in 'The Minimalist - No Side Straps' page above .
