A link is also on my website!!! • Excuses need to be received within 3 days or they will be marked unlawful. Please state the child’s name, date of the absence, reason for the absence, and signature of the parent or guardian on the excuse. • Get a doctor’s excuse when possible. After 10 parent excuses doctor’s excuses become mandatory!! Your child MUST BE SEEN BY THE DOCTOR. Breakfast Procedures •Our cafeteria is open from 8:30 until 9:00 for breakfast. •The cost is $1.55 and also functions under our electronic meal ID system. •Reduced ($.30) and free breakfasts are also available for those who qualify. •Please let me know if your child is expected to eat breakfast at school. Lunch Procedures Our lunch time is 11:15-11:45!! •Students may bring a lunch from home or purchase a lunch. •There are 3 daily choices for lunch. •A calendar is sent home monthly to inform you of the choices. We recommend reviewing the menu with your child before school, so they are prepared to make their choice when they arrive in the classroom. •Lunches cost $2.40. If you are eligible for free or reduced lunches ($.40), turn in the forms asap. Drinks may also be purchased for a child who packs a lunch. •Please send all lunch money is a SEALED envelope marked with your child’s first and last name!! You may also use MYSCHOOLBUCKS online!! Reading Street hits on all areas of early literacy skills. You can check through the Skyward Parent Portal! 10/10 or similar shows something was graded Stars, Smiley, Squiggly, or Frowny faces show independent practice that is not graded No mark or TG means we did it together in class Report Cards • Report cards are given four times a year. The first report card is printed for you and grades will be discussed at parent conferences. Conferences are held in November. You will sign up for your conference tonight!! • The remaining three report cards will be available to you online! Starfish of the Week • • • • Star of the Week will begin next week. I pick a student on Friday. I do not have a schedule. The student’s name will appear in the newsletter. A letter and poster paper will be sent home on Friday. Please complete and return on Monday! Be creative and have fun!! The kids LOVE to see their poster hanging on the wall! School Supplies In kindergarten land we are always in need of supplies! I have included some items on the apples by the windows. If you would like to donate one or more items, feel free to take an apple or two with you when you leave. Lunch is from 11:15-11:45! Snacks • • • • • Snacks are provided on a daily or weekly basis. The snack helper for the following week is always listed on my newsletter. We have 21 students in the classroom. A healthy snack list was sent home the first day of school. Refrain from sending in candy or juice boxes – save those for birthday celebrations. Holiday Parties • • • • There will be three holiday parties this year!! I will need four volunteers for each party! These include: • Halloween (REMEMBER THE HALLOWEEN PARADE!!) • Christmas • Valentine’s Day If you are interested, please sign up before leaving Open House. All clearances must be submitted before helping with classroom parties!!! Johnny Appleseed Day is September 26th! A sign- up sheet to bring in a supply is also on the table. It is greatly appreciated!! Your child may dress like Johnny on that day…jeans and white or plaid shirt, or they may just wear red!! I will also need parents for our Thanksgiving Feast!! Our Field Trip to the Farm is on May 5th!! All parents with clearances are welcome to come and follow the bus!! Book Orders • Book orders are sent home each month. • • • • September orders are due on the 23rd!! October orders are in your folder. You are under NO obligation to buy these books.
