NGL / LPG RECOVERY
Gas Plant in a BottleTM
Ortloff has been developing NGL / LPG recovery
technology for almost 40 years. Ortloff’s portfolio of
proprietary process designs are the industry standard
offering ultra-high ethane and propane recovery,
improved CO2 freeze tolerance, dual mode capability,
optimum heat integration which results in lower
CAPEX, OPEX and the highest efficiency in terms of
recovery vs. installed compression power.
Ortloff’s Gas Plant in a BottleTM incorporates these
same design features into a unique single column
configuration while providing further improvements in
recovery and/or operating efficiency over a traditional
plant configuration.
A PPLICATIONS
Gas Plant in a BottleTM utilizes Ortloff’s proven
liquids recovery technologies and integrates the heat
exchange and mass transfer into a single module
within the Demethanizer or Deethanzier replacing the
traditional stripping section trays/packing while
eliminating external side/bottom reboilers and
associated piping.
Another key feature of the Gas Plant in a BottleTM
technology is the ability to locate the residue gas heat
exchanger within the column thereby eliminating
residue gas piping and reducing residue gas pressure
drop.
Patents Pending
Gas Plant in a BottleTM has a significantly smaller
footprint than a traditional cryogenic unit making the
technology ideally suited for:

New plant applications with an inlet capacity
up to 400 MMSCFD, depending on shipping
limitations.


Offshore applications such as FLNG.
Retrofits of existing facilities looking to
improve recovery, plant throughput or both.
B ENEFITS
The Gas Plant in a BottleTM offers the following
benefits when compared to traditional cryogenic plant
design:

Reduced power consumption or increased
product recovery.

Elimination of piping and flanges which
results in fewer potential sources of
emissions.

Elimination of erratic flow and thermal
cycling in thermosiphon reboilers.

Better control of fabrication off-site with
shipment as one assembly.

Reduction in
construction.

Significant improvement in engineering and
equipment delivery schedules.

Easy customization for specific applications.
