LEAF PICK-UP SCHEDULE
In order for
service crews to
effectively and efficiently collect your leaves and stay on schedule, please follow these important guidelines. Your leaves must be
on the curb by 7:00 am on the Monday of your scheduled week to ensure collection.
Guidelines
• Place leaves at the curb or roadside before 7:00 am on the Monday of your scheduled collection week. Pick up cannot be guaranteed after this time.
• Rake leaves to the edge of the roadway or back of curb
• Avoid placing leaf piles near trees, signs, mailboxes, fire hydrants and streetlights.
• Remove vehicles from the street during collection week. Leaves under and behind parked cars cannot be collected.
• Do not include material such as trash, rocks, branches, twigs, brush or grass clippings. These items damage the leaf vacuum machine. Leaves will
not be collected if they contain any of the above items.
The Munroe Falls Leaf Collection Program is intended only to collect leaves that have been properly bunched and placed at the curb at the roadway within
the right of way for disposal during a six week period. There is a very small window of opportunity to collect leaves from the time they fall until winter
weather begins. Once the leaves are covered by snow or are frozen, the leaf vacuum machines can’t collect them and crews must attend to snow removal
operations.
Alternative Leaf Disposal

Utilize a mulching lawnmower and mulch leaves back into the lawn. This provides nutrients for the soil.

Place leaves in and around plant beds and under trees and shrubs, again providing nutrients for the soil and plants plus insulation that keeps in water.

Bag leaves and lawn clippings and put in with your trash cart for regular pick-up. This may actually assist in the breakdown of materials in landfills.
