Middle School Mandarin Advance One
Chinese Made Easy 4 is the fourth book of the CME series. At the end of
the course, the students will be able to use extended language to talk
about country, cites, community, family life, holidays as well as traveling.
Students learn better in an environment where they can use the language
in a realistic context. Problem solving and information transferring
interactions allow students to use the language purposely. The focus for
students is on completing the tasks and language provides the means.
Limited language forms are used selectively and repeatedly.

Unit One: China
1. The students listen to the teacher’s reading and label the
unknown characters with pinyin.
2. The students are encouraged to use different words to express
the new words in the context as much as they can.
3. The students will have specific words/grammatical points
practice.
4. The students try to change the composite sentences to simple
sentences and finally they can summarize the story by using
essential words/sentences learnt, as well as rethink the language
and express ideas in their own way.
5. Cultural Corner: We will hold a knowledge lecture about China.
