CHAPTER 4 BUILDNG ANALYSIS
General information (chapter analysis):
The building is located in Saudi Arabia, AlKhobar.it is a residential building, and it has one main
entrance with a one fire entrance exit. The size of the ground floor and the first floor are 2500
square meter.
Site analysis:
The building is located in a perfect site. You can find surrounded most of the services. Also the
building provides a parking area for the comfort of the client
Building description:
The building is containing of 4floors with the mezzanine floor .the high of the building floors is
3meters .the ground and the first floor are having different area that served different functions.
This is a drawing shown the different zones in the floors.
GROUND FLOOR
FIRST FLOOR
Building mass analysis:
The building is divided into different zones, each one is serving its function, the ground floor is
contain the beauty center the provide the different services which are hair styling, hair treatment,
hair washing, markup, pedicure, manicure, shop, and cafeteria .but the first floor is contain the
spa that’s provide the relaxation room, Moroccan bath, massage room, mud massage, facial
sauna, and steam room.
Building fixes elemant:
The fixed elements in the plan area the windows, stair, and elevator.
Materials used for finishing:
Since the concept of the project is nature that means using the shape of water, sand, trees paper,
flowers, and wood.
HVAC system:
The building is under construction there are no available plans for the HVAC system, there is
only information that they are planning to use Central Split Air Conditioners.
Lighting system:
The building is under construction there are no specific types of lighting they are going to use,
but because Lighting is very important element in the interior design, and it has different type
one of them is the daylight design, which is not enough for my building, so will use other type
such as:

Diffusion

Lights in beauty center should be indirect (diffused). Diffused lighting means that the light
coming from the fixture is scattered in different directions. This is can be by putting the light
source behind something translucent. It could be by using frosted bulbs rather than clear, putting
the lights behind screens or curtains or. The reason of that is to have diffused light with fewer
shadows and to see colors more truly.

Dimming
It is a Smaller lights and to keep the amount of light low, this technique is using in reception
areas, to make the client feel relaxed.
Project Evaluation
The location of the building is very helpful ,because it on the main street ,and surrounded by
different serves .The building was good for the project I worked on .the entrance in the middle
of the plan, which gave me the freedom of work.
