You are responsible for listening for your Team Number to be called. We will call Teams 1 time and then put them on a 3 minute clock. The game will be forfeited in case of a no show! FAQs 1.) How long does my team have to get to the boards after my team is called for a match? Your team has 3 minutes! 2.) What happens if my team fails to get there in 3 minutes? Your team forfeits the game. No substitute players are allowed. 3.) How long does my opponent have to pitch during a turn? We have to keep things moving for the sake of time, so each player needs to pay attention and be ready when it is their turn. If this becomes an issue, please bring it to our attention and that player may be put on the clock during his or her turn. 4.) Which team pitches first to start the game? A player from each team will pitch one washer and the closest to the hole or in the hole will start the game! 5.) Who pitches first after the game is under way? The team that scored last, pitches first each time. 6.) What happens if a player pitches out of turn? This is both teams fault! So the washers that player pitched out of turn…counts! Sorry. 7.) Where do I stand to pitch? Behind the front of the washer board! 8.) Do I pitch the same color washer each time? Yes! Always pitch either all yellow or all orange through the entire game. 9.) How many points do I get if I put a washer in the hole and I have one closest to the hole? You would get 6 points, 5 for making one, and 1 for being closest. 10.) What if I make one and my opponent has one closest to the hole? Your opponent doesn’t get a point and you get 5 points! 11.) What if my washer hits the ground and bounces on the board? That washer is dead, it comes off the board. 12.) Okay what if the washer hits the ground and hits my opponents washer and pushes it closer or knocks it in the hole? If it pushes it closer it stays and counts or of it knocks your opponents washer in the hole, it counts! 13.) What if my washer goes in the hole and comes back out? If it stays on the board, it is still in play. But you do not get 5 points….it came out stupid! 14.) Now, I got a leaner….does it count extra? Nope! 15.) What if my opponent and I have two washers exactly the same distance from the hole? The points cancel each other out. If you have two the same distance and you need a measurement please bring in an official for a measurement! 16.) What if my team pitches our last 4 washers and we now have 23 points? If your opponent has not pitched yet, they have the opportunity to pitch their washers and try to cancel out your points in this round. Example: your team pitches 4 washers and the last washer pitched goes in the hole. This puts your team at 23 points, now your opponent can pitch their washers. If they make one, it would cancel out 5 points from your score in that round (putting your score at 18). We will have other things that will come up as we play, just remember we are all in this for a great cause and to have fun!!! Good Luck ‘cause you’re going to need it!!! That’s the way Washer Pitching go!
