As the school year is winding down there are a few housekeeping items everyone should think about.
If you are staying at the building; clean out your locker/area so that the engineers can do their summer cleaning.
Turn in your keys and other building equipment (on loan). Inquire as to where you will be in the fall and see if they
have a calendar of events for next year in place (this may not take place until later in the summer).
If you are changing work sites; clean out/take home personal items, hand in any building equipment early so that
your final days in the building are not rushed. If you know what site you are going to check with the secretary to
ask where you will be in the building, where your locker/secure area is, and if they have any events planned prior
to the start of the school year that you should be aware of.
Excess placement for EAs/ BPAs; will happen on June 7 a preference form will be sent from the union asking a
variety of questions such as: area of city/school age/number of hour’s currently working and past job titles.
Excess placement for SEAs; will happen as soon as the budget allocations for next year (July/August) are given by
the Department of Education and the preference form will be sent out prior to the placement session.
Last day of school is June 4 for students and ESPs who are not on extended contracts. Summer school begins on
June 17 and will run through July 25 . The ESP union will be hosting MRA I and II on June 5 and 6 call
612.287.0270 to register. The union will also be holding PEIP informational sessions on both June 5&6 from
