Read Stage 2.5 Water Conservation Measures

The District thanks customers for the incredible job
they did conserving water over the summer!
Please note that many of the water conservation requirements listed below
have been i posed by the State u der Go er or Bro ’s drought order.
1.
Continue Water Conservation Program efforts through public outreach,
education, conservation incentives and partnering with local agencies to
heighten awareness of the drought, inform the public of measures residential
and commercial customers can take to reduce indoor and outdoor water use
and curtail wasteful water use.
2.
A districtwide 20 percent reduction in potable water use is required when
compared to the same time period in 2013.
3.
The District requests that customers water only up to three days per week and
avoid outdoor irrigation between the hours of 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.
4.
Water leaks in customer-owned plumbing shall be stopped or repaired by
customers within 72 hours after being notified by CCWD staff.
5.
Excessive irrigation that causes water to flow or spray onto adjacent
properties, streets or other right-of-ways is not allowed.
6.
Washing down sidewalks, driveways, parking areas, building exteriors, tennis
courts, patios or other hard surface areas is not allowed, except to alleviate
immediate safety or sanitation hazards.
7.
Avoid outdoor irrigation during, and within 48 hours after, measurable rainfall.
8.
Watering ornamental turf on public street medians is not allowed.

Use a hose with an automatic shut-off valve to wash vehicles, boats or trailers.
10.
Recirculated water must be used in decorative fountains and recreational
ponds.
11.
Restaurants and other food establishments shall only serve and refill water
for patrons upon request. Restaurant owners are encouraged to use table
cards to help convey the conservation message.
12.
Hotels and motels shall offer their guests the option to not have linens and
towels laundered daily and are encouraged to prominently display this option
in each guest room.
13.
Golf courses shall maximize their use of available recycled water and reduce
their use of potable water by 20 percent compared to 2013 usage.
14.
Line flushing will not be performed, except when necessary to comply with
state and federal public health and safety requirements for operation of
permitted potable water systems.
15.
CCWD customers shall adhere to all other applicable water conservation
requirements mandated by the State of California, including the Governor, the
State Water Resources Control Board and the State Legislature.
16.
CCWD staff members are authorized to investigate alleged violations of this
Ordinance, to make determinations as to whether a violation has occurred,
and to issue warning notices and administrative fines under this Ordinance.
