The initial shipment for online testing includes these documents. However, if you have new students, or a student who switches from paper to online testing, you will need to follow the instructions below to retrieve their student code, complete the form on the next page, and hand to the student. Note: Pretest documents will be generated only for online students in the system by the end of the initial ordering window. Complete the student’s first name, middle initial, last name—exactly as it appears in PearsonAccess and ACT high school code in the top right corner of the Pretest Information for Online Testing form on the next page. 2. Select the Setup icon near the top left of the screen, and then choose Students. The Students screen appears. 5. To find a student, type at least two letters of the student’s last name in the “Last name starts with” field and select the Search button. The student code and other identifying information displays in the table. 6. Select the “i” icon beside the student code to see an expanded view. Select the Close button when you’re finished. If you complete your pretest information you can send your scores, for free, to up to four colleges or scholarship agencies of your choosing. You have up to four days after testing to complete this information. How to Complete Your Pretest Information Take the following steps to complete your pretest information. 1. Go to www.actstudent.org/account. 2. If you already have an ACT web account, enter your user ID and password and select Log In. Otherwise, select Create Account and follow the on-screen instructions to create and log in to your account. You should now be on your account home page. 3. From the left-hand menu, select Pretest for State and District. A form requesting your first name, last name, and student code appears. 4. Enter your first name, last name, and student code exactly as they appear at the top of this page, and select Continue. The “Who is Providing This Information” page appears. 5. From this point forward, follow the on-screen instructions to complete and submit your information. The ACT Educational Opportunity Service You’ll be given the opportunity to opt into the ACT Educational Opportunity Service (EOS) from your testing workstation on test day. EOS is a FREE college and scholarship information service for students who take the ACT. Participating in EOS can connect you with over 1,500 colleges, universities, financial aid and scholarship agencies, and organizations that offer educational programs. If you choose to participate, we’ll make your information (name, address, gender, high school, email address, date of birth, year of high school graduation, racial/ethnic background, intended college major, and occupational choice) available to them so they can contact you. Your test scores and Social Security number are not reported. All third party organizations that participate in EOS have agreed to use this information only for the purpose of sharing with you information about their educational and/or financial aid programs.
