Netball Season September 2014 – August 2015
Dear Player/Parent/Carer and Volunteers,
Stapleford Netball Club has regained their BRONZE CAPS (Club Action
Planning Scheme) and CLUBMARK accreditation and is now working on
gaining SILVER CAPS. This is a nationally recognised award for Netball Clubs
and focuses on the following:
• Duty of Care and Safeguarding/Child Protection
• Coaching and Competition
• Club Management/Administration
• Sports Equity and Ethics
The following is what the club and its members have achieved this season:
 Securing a brand new 3 court netball/tennis facilities at George Spencer
school



Coaching/Umpiring
1 x player completed Coaching course level 1 and 2 more on next
course
5 x active coaches doing senior or junior training and 4 novice junior
coaches.
3 x Senior attended C award Umpire course and are using their skills
3 x juniors attended Beginner Umpiring course awaiting test
Coaches linked with schools to make stronger links with George Spencer
/Wadsworth fields /Fairfield/NUSA Schools.
Completed 1 x Back to Netball Course and generated new players who
are now considering getting involved more in leagues and tournaments.
SNC Club Affiliation and Club Registration and Regional Fees
We promote good practice by affiliating all players to England Netball this
incorporates England Netball Civil Liberty and Personal Accident Insurance
Policy. Stapleford Netball Club incorporates England Netball affiliation,
regional fees £10, and £10 club registration together which is paid per year in
July. Please see below:

Please ensure that you bring your subs to all events and pay before playing
please. * The Club reserve the right to not play a player who has not paid
their subs
Match Kit
Junior Kit can be ordered from Godfreys Sports Nottingham. Please email
them direct. See kit page on web site from 1st Aug.
Please note – the club has decided all players including high and tots need
now to be in kit for games.
Transport
Our Safeguarding Policy is clear that we encourage parents to be involved in
the transportation of their child to games/tournaments for their own safety.
An official of the club may only transport a player Under 18 in exceptional
circumstances (e.g. emergency) and if possible with another Adult Club
member present.

Training will be Weds 6.30pm – 8.00pm - starting on Weds 3rd Sept 2014
Juniors (School year 7/6/5/4/3/2/1)
Sat 9.30am – 11.00am - starting on Sat 6th Sept 2014
Training does not take place during Nottinghamshire School Holidays
Players need to attend training and understand that if not at training this may
forfeit a place in their team.
New players
A new player on arrival will be given a club registration form and information
pack and links to SNC website. Then a player has 3 weeks to decide whether
they wish to be part of our club. If yes then every player will need to affiliate
to the club. See above.

Extra activities
This year we will be offering more FUN out of netball activities/social events for
the players to bond more.
In the summer - we will be doing Regional and National Tournaments e.g.

How to register/Affiliate for next season
Players wanting to play next year in any of the events above must affiliate
and pay club registration before the start of the new season.
An opportunity to do this will be at our AGM /Club Presentation night on Wed
9th July at George Spencer School. This is important so that the club can sort
and plan team activities and enter leagues in time.
So complete attached Club registration/affiliation form.
If you are Aged 18+ on 1st Sept – Complete Part A only
If you are Aged 17 or under on 1st Sept – Complete Part A and B. (If Part B is
not signed by a parent or guardian the form will be returned)
Also ENGLAND NETBALL has a form that needs to be completed
 Cheques should be made payable to ‘Stapleford Netball Club’
Please bring cheques and completed forms to Presentation Night /AGM -9th
July 2014 – 6.30pm or they need to be sent by 31st July 2014
