Swimming as usual on Wednesday and PE on Friday.
Trainers in school every day please.
Reading records should be in school every day so we can check them and write in them.
Some people are doing brilliantly at this so well done to them!
Thank you for all the cushions to make our reading area more attractive. Keeping

Energy saving week 31/10/16
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------This week our homework is whole school homework on vocabulary.
Learning objective: Find a word that you find interesting and explore the meaning of the
word.
I would like you to: Present your findings whichever way you would like. This could be a
poster, mind map, a cartoon or any other way in which you would like to present your work.
Remember:
You could use you morphograph knowledge to explain the word.
WAGOLL:
This week my favourite word has been systematic. I’ve wrote down my thoughts but I am
sure you can make yours look nicer!
Systematic is an adjective for when something is done in a methodical way (following a logical
method).
Morphographs:
- System = An ordered set of rules.
-atic = The nature of the thing specified.
This suffix turns nouns into adjectives. E.g. problem + atic = Problematic.
Challenge: What can you find out about the history of the word? Which language does it
come from? Is it French or Latin?

Spellings – We are going to be tested on our ‘ables’ and ‘ibles’
Spellings able and ible.
-able and -ible are both suffixes, groups of letters that are added to a word to change its
meaning or use.
-able = When the root word looks like a whole word then you should be able to add able:
-ible when the full root word is not a whole word you can add ible.
-able words are much more common.
