EQUIPMENT
CHECK ALL EQUIPMENT USED:
All Picking Buckets (Plastic or Metal)
All Picking Bags
All Plastic Totes
All tarps/covers used for covering or hauling fruit
EQUIPMENT CLEANED USING MUNICIPAL WATER (POTABLE)
CHECK METHOD USED:
Washing with water only
Washing with water and friction (includes power washing)
Washing with water and soap
EQUIPMENT CLEANED USING OTHER WATER (NON-POTABLE)
CHECK METHOD USED:
Washing with water and sanitizer
HOW TO PERFORM THIS TASK
Note: Growers are responsible for ensuring that all harvest containers, covers/tarps owned and/or used on their production sites
are clean, free of debris and safe for food use.
1. Using the following equipment, wash the harvest containers, covers/tarps ensuring all food contact surfaces
are throughly rinsed.

2. Ensure all visible organic matter, including leaves, dirt and other debris are removed from all parts of the
harvest containers.
3. If Non-Potable water is used, the following steps must be done:
Scrub all surfaces including food contact surfaces and rinse.

4. Allow all harvest containers to air dry prior to use.
