CSA - Successes
• Overcame the “rat program” stigma quickly
• RDTC (Resource Development Trades Council)
fully supports the program
• Large number of people wanting to become
CSA’s
• CSA’s are actively engaged in the Mass
Meetings, Orientations and program reviews
• CSA’s have produced and are developing
training videos based on current needs of the
project
Long Harbour Process Plant Project
Craft Safety - Challenges
• Time consuming initially for the safety staff to
onboard the CSA’s properly
• CSA’s find it challenging to walk the line
between being a tradesperson and the Safety
Dept.
• CSA’s require active engagement of their
Safety Leads and Project Management.
– They do not succeed without it.
