FACTS ABOUT FRANKINCENSE
•
Also known as “olibanum” the name for frankincense comes from
the Medieval French word “franc encens” meaning “real incense”.
•
Frankincense is considered the
holy anointing oil in the
Middle East and has been used
in religious ceremonies for
thousands of years.
•
It was one of the gifts given to
Jesus Christ at His birth.

FACTS ABOUT FRANKINCENSE
•
True frankincense comes from four main species of Boswellia,
a scraggy and very hardy tree.
•
Resin from each species is available in various
grades, depending on the time of harvesting.
•
Frankincense is tapped by slashing the bark,
which is called striping, and allowing the exuded
resin to bleed out and harden.
•
The trees start producing resin when they are
about eight to ten years old. Tapping is done two
to three times a year with the final taps producing
the best tears due to their higher aromatic terpene,
sesquiterpene and diterpene content.

NIGHT TIME FACE CREAM
Perfect just before bed time, this will help your skin glow in the
morning.
Mix together in a small bowl or container:
1½ tbsp liquid Coconut Oil
½ tsp Olive Oil
4-5 Drops YL Frankincense Essential Oil
4-5 Drops YL Lavender Essential Oil
Rub onto your face and body. Wipe off excess to
prevent the oil from transferring onto your bed sheets.
