Label Products invests in Xeikon 3300
New agreement at drupa extends production possibilities
Düsseldorf, Germany, June 5, 2016 – Today at the Xeikon booth at drupa, Label Products CEO’s Marc and
Pieter Dhondt made a toast on their investment in the Xeikon 3300. The new digital label press enhances the
production workflow of Label Products and extends their possibilities.
In the past few years, Label Products grew out to be one of the most important players in its market segment
within the Benelux. With a staff of 40 dedicated professionals, a very wide range of products and the possibility
to order small volumes, the Waregem based label printer profited from the ever increasing demand. The
investment in the Xeikon 3300 gives Label Products the possibility to extend their position in their market even
further.
In the years to come, Label Products will focus on new products for which, up until now, there were hardly any
production methods available. Today, the Xeikon 3300 makes efficient production of these high quality products
available.
Marc Dhondt emphasis that the choice to make the investment did involve any pressure from his clients. The
choice for this digital press is based entirely upon the fact that it’s the best solution for the current production
environment. The efficient approach of creating Pantone-like colors of the Xeikon 3300 was an important
consideration during the decision-making.
Promotional applications
Label Products intends to use the Xeikon 3300 for printing on transparent materials for beverage and food
packaging. The coverage of the white Xeikon toner in a single pass is a strong added value. The products of
the Xeikon 3300 are in compliance with the regulations of the FDA for the food industry. It uses eco-friendly
toners and there is no emission of volatile organic compounds. In summary an environmentally friendly solution
for the future.
Even the production of very small series of warning labels is profitable, thanks to the digital possibilities of the
label printer. The output of the Xeikon 3300 is colorfast and resistant to sunlight, which makes it extremely
suitable for outdoor applications. A great solution for all kinds of promotional applications.
The Xeikon 3300 is a roll-to-roll machine, which makes it possible to output large banners, thereby adding sign
products to the portfolio of Label Products and the existing portfolio of their large format subsidiary Ye Print.
Closing the gap
For Label Products, the implementation of the Xeikon 3300 means a definite farewell to their letterpress
production capacities, which was an outdated alternative for some offset and flexo products. The digital label
printer closes the gap between high volumes and large series of small volumes. Pieter Dhondt: “The acquisition
of the Xeikon 3300 was the logical next step to take the weight off our offset presses and gives us the
opportunity to offer new products.”
