We appreciate the possibility of serving together and your help in providing the Abundant Life® to our residents. Below is a listing of current openings. Positions are updated on an ongoing basis. Nursing Community Life (Activities) Air Hockey/Game Assistant-Spend time with men who enjoy playing games such as air hockey in the game room or play board and card games while visiting on their household. Monday afternoons 1:00 -4:00 Active Games Assistant- Assist small groups of Memory Care residents with playing one of their favorite game – balloons and noodles -or bowling or corn hole . Monday afternoon 1-4 Come and Listen – Read stories to residents either 1:1 or in a small group; Monday afternoon 1-4 Hospitality Volunteer- Assist our short term residents with social activity by visiting in their room or at various points along our Main Street; Saturday and Sunday afternoons best. Must be able to volunteer independently. Pianist/Organist- Provide music on organ or piano for Memory Care residents who just enjoy listening in their household. Wednesday afternoon and early evening best One-on-One Visits- Special visitors for our memory care residents are always welcome. Visit at times best for volunteer and resident; befriend one or more residents, prefer weekly visits. Personal Care Community Life (Activities) Activities Leader – Lead activities such as games, reading to group, and other areas of resident interest. Must be able to serve independently. Saturday afternoon 1- 3/4, Sunday 2-3:00, Tuesday 5:30-6:30 Remember When?-Facilitate time with memory care residents by engaging them in social activity and cue them on memory recall. Tuesday evenings preferred. Weekly or twice a month. IPad or Telekin Gamer -Assist resident 1:1 or in small group with IPad games set up just for residents on their IPads; Tuesday, 5:30-6:30. Fitness Walker- Gather residents for a stroll after dinner and walk indoors or outdoors. Monday or Friday afternoons between 1-4 or evenings 5:30-6:30 Games and Activities Assistant – Assist with games and visits Tuesday 10-11:30 Newhaven Court Community Life (Activities) One-on-One Visits- Visit at times best for volunteer and resident; befriend one or more residents, prefer weekly or twice a month visits Exercise Class Leader – Assist group of residents in gentle exercises; weekly Mon, Wed, Fri 10:30 -11:00; assist with one day or the series Craft Facilitator or Assistant- Lead or assist in leading a small group of residents in making crafts. Supplies provided. Patterns and ideas can be provided. Monday, Tuesday or Wednesday, 1:30; once a month. Baking Assistant- Assist residents with reading recipes, measuring and placing items in over. Once a month Monday, Tuesday or Thursday afternoon. Chaplaincy Care Friends - Social visit may combine some devotional elements if both the resident and volunteer are comfortable with that. Training provided through an easy-to -read manual in your own home. Buddy system is available for that first visit with residents. Visits with residents are flexible – time suitable for volunteer and resident. Community Life Program Presentations - Have an idea, travel log or hobby you would like to present? Times flexible Dining Services FDD - Front Door Delivery - Deliver meals during evening meal time to Independent Living residents who cannot come to the main dining room for their meals often due to injury or illness. Driver’s license and clearance needed. Must be over 18. Openings are Wednesday, Friday, and Saturday 4:30-5:30 and Sunday 11:30-12:30. Musicians – Provide dinner music for residents and visitors in the Baron’s Inn. Intermediate to advanced musicianship required, Any Monday – Saturday, 4:30-8:00 or Sunday from 10:30-2:00 Other Gift Shop Clerks- Clerks provide a friendly atmosphere for shoppers, make sales using cash resister, make change, assist patrons, and fill out paperwork as needed. Friday 1-4. One day a week or every other week preferred. Must be 16 or older. Volunteer Greeter – Provide a welcoming presence for Passavant’s many visitors; Sundays 10-11, 11-1, 4-5 Facilities Management Office Assistant- Assist with scanning files and saving them to computer files and other duties as assigned by the staff member. These may include: light filing, making file labels, processing work orders and computer data entry. Any Tuesday or Thursday for any shift between the hours of 9:00 am - 4:00 pm. Volunteer Support Member- Assist volunteers new to Passavant by guiding them on a tour and through orientation. Assist with follow up in their new assignment. Gently Used Shop Sorter/Substitute Clerk- Assisting in sorting bags of donations and screening items to ensure cleanliness and quality and appropriate pricing. Helps with storage of inventory. Assist with covering the shop’s clerk schedule when other volunteers are absent. Must be able to stand for periods of time, to bend, and to lift 10-20 pounds. Wednesdays preferred 10 3 or 10 - 1.
