MissionStatement
LakelandLacrosseAssociationisdedicatedtoprovidingapositiveathleticexperienceforboy
andgirllacrosseplayersintheLakelandregion.Ourcoaches,parentsandvolunteersare
committedtodevelopingeachplayer’scharacterwhileteachingleadership,teamwork,and
sportsmanship.Ourgoalisnevertolosesightoftheimportanceofcharacterinbuildingateam
thatisstrong,healthyandwithwell-roundedathletes.
VISION
Ourhopewouldbethattheseplayers,inthefuture,willbecomecoachesorvolunteerswith
ouroranotherAssociationbecauseoffondmemoriesofaprogramthatwasthefoundation

AllMembers,Players,Managers,Officials,Executive,BoardofDirectors,CommitteeMembers,
Managers,Coaches,VolunteersandParents/Guardiansshall:
1. AtalltimesrefrainfrombehaviorwhichmaydiscreditorembarrasstheLLAorthegame
oflacrosse
2. Showrespectforcultural,social,religiousandpoliticalvaluesofallparticipantsinthe
gameoflacrosse
3. AlwaysbecourteousandobjectivewhendealingwithothermembersoftheAssociation
4. Supporttheconceptoffairplayandsportsmanship
5. Asaguestinaforeigncountry,otherprovincesorotherassociationsabidebythelaws
ofthehostandadheretoanysocialcustomsconcerningconduct.
6. RefrainfromcriticismofmembersorrepresentativesoftheLLA.

DIRECTIVE1:MEMBERSHIP
Amembershallbe:
AnyfamilyregisteredwithLLAoranynonparentcoach,assistantcoach,managerorexecutive
memberofficiallyregisteredwiththeAssociation.Themembershipshallbetheregistrationfee
foralacrosseplayer,coachandmangersuchafeebeingdeterminedbytheLLAexecutive
committeebeforeeachnewlacrosseseason.
DIRECTIVE2:MEMBERSHIPRESPONSIBILITY
MembershipentitleseachfamilyonevoteperregistrationatallAnnualandGeneralMeetings
aslongastheyareamemberingoodstanding(asdefinedbyLLABylaw#5).LLAwelcomesall
memberstoattendAnnualandGeneralMeetingstohaveanactivevoiceintheoperationsand
futuredevelopmentoftheLLA.Allexecutivemeetingsareopentothemembersatalltimesfor
theirinput,butnotdirection.
DIRECTIVE3:REGISTRATION,FEESandREFUNDS
a. Fees:LLAplayerfeeswillbesetpriortoregistrationandwillbebasedonestimatedcost
offloortime.
b. Lateregistrationfeeswillbedealtwithonayeartoyearbasis.
c. RespectinSports(ParentProgram)
TheRespectinSportsparentprogramisaoneofakindCanadianprogramdevelopedas
anon-linetrainingandcertificateprogram.Sadlythemostcommonreasonfor
managers,coachesandyoungrefereesnottoreturntothesportisunacceptableparent
behavior.Thisprogramoutlinesamodelforallparentstofollowandismandatoryto
getplayersregisteredintoourprogram.Withthistoolwehopetohaveasafeand
respectfulenvironmentforeveryoneinvolvedintheLLA.Thecostforthiscertificateis
minimal.
d. Refunds-Afterregistration,anyrefundsgivenwillhavetheWheatlandLacrosse
Association(WLA)andAlbertaLacrosseAssociation(ALA)feesdeductedfromthe
refund.Refundswillconsistoftheremainingmoneyafterdeductionsandwillonlybe
givenupuntilMay15ofthecurrentcalendaryear.Inthecaseofinjurythatleavesa
playerunabletocompetefortheremainderoftheseason,feeswillbepro-ratedand
theamountofrefundwillbeatthediscretionoftheLLABoard.
e. Deadlinefees–RegistrationopendateswillbesetbytheLLABoardeachyearwiththe
deadlineforregistrationtocoincidewiththeALAregistrationclosingdate(generally
aroundMay15)

f. AnymemberwhohasoutstandingdebtstoLLA,whetherincurredasaconsequenceof
registrationoraccruedduringtheseasonasaplayer,volunteer,orcoach,shallbe
declared“NotinGoodStanding”.Aplayer,coachorvolunteer,whoisnolongeringood
standing,shallnotbepermittedtoregisterforthenextyearoflacrosse.Ifthedebt
remainsunpaidduringtheplayingseason30daysafternoticehasbeengiventothe
memberbytheTreasurerorPresident;playing,coachingorvolunteeringprivilegeswill
bewithdrawnimmediately.Theplayer,coach,orvolunteerwillbereinstated
immediatelyuponreceiptbytheTreasurerifcashorcertifiedchequeintheamountof
thedebtispaid.
g. Registrationswillbeacceptedinadivisionuptotheallottedrostersize(Directive7)as
setbytheLLA.Registrationisacceptedonafirstcomefirstservedbasisaccompanied
byfullpaymentoffeestotheLLAregistrationdeadline.Ifateamhasafullroster,then
awaitlistwillbekeptbytheregistrarandasecondteamwillbecreatedifenough
registrationsarereceived.Intheeventtherearenotenoughregistrationsfortwoteams
tobecreatedtheregistrantsmaybecombinedtoformoneteam.
DIRECTIVE4:RULESOFPLAYand“FAIRPLAY”
a. LLAwillfollowallCanadianLacrosseAssociation(CLA),ALA,andWLArulesoffairplay
b. Aplayerwillbedeniedaccesstotheplayingflooriftheplayer/parentcodeofconduct
formhasnotbeencompletedpriortothefirstscheduledfloortime
c. AsLLAiscurrentlya‘B’parityleaguewewillencouragefairplaysothatallplayershave
theopportunitytogrowanddeveloptheirskills.TheLTAD(LongTermAthletic
Development)minimumstandardsasdesignedbyALAwillbeusedtoguideskill
development.ThefollowingisLLA’sphilosophyoffairplay:
1) Mini-Tyke/Tyke:RollingLines
2) Novice/PeeWee:Encouragerollinglines.Penaltykilllineallowed.Last5
minutesofplay,coach’sdiscretionforlinesfortournamentsandplayoffs.
3) Bantam/Midget:Encouragerollinglines.Penaltykillandpowerplaylines
allowed,last10minutesofplaycoach’sdiscretionforlinesfortournamentand
playoffs
DIRECTIVE5:ProtectionofPlayers
a. Fortheprotectionofallplayers,cellphones,PDA’s,camerasandallotherphotography
orrecordingequipmentwillbeprohibitedinanyroominwhichplayersaredressingor
undressing.Forpurposeaudioplayingdeviceswillbeallowedprovidedtheydonot
havebuiltinphotographyorrecordingequipment.

b. Femaleplayersplayingonacoedteamwillhavetheirownseparatedressingroom
providedtothem.AtMini-Tyke,TykeandNovice,femaleandmaleplayersmaydress
witheachotherprovidingthereisconsentandatleast2members(1male,1female)
presentinthedressingroom.
c. Personswhoviolatethispolicywillbesubjecttodisciplinaryactionwithpotentiallegal
ramifications.
DIRECTIVE6:TOURNAMENTS/PROVINCIALS
AccordingtoWLArulesandregulationsMiniTykeandTyketeamsarerequiredtoattenda
minimumofonefestivalandtheyearendtournamentwithintheWLAseason(withtheseason
datesspecifiedbyWLA).TheLLAwillpayfortheentryfeeforonerequiredfestival.
DIRECTIVE7:PARITY,PLAYERMOVEMENT
a. Parity:Intheeventthatthereismorethanoneteamdeclaredinadivision,LLAwilltake
reasonablestepstoensuretheteamsarecomposedsothereisreasonableparity
betweensaidteams.Wheneverpossible,paritywillbedeterminedbyevaluations
completedbytheCoachingCoordinatorandthepotentialCoachesthatwillmatchup
newplayerswithexperiencedplayers.
1) MiniTyke:ateamwillbedeclaredwiththefollowingminimumof8playersand
asecondteamwillbedeclaredat16players.
2) Tyke:ateamwillbedeclaredwiththefollowingminimumof8playersanda
secondteamwillbedeclaredat16players.
3) Novice:ateamwillbedeclaredwiththefollowingminimumof11playersanda
secondteamwillbedeclaredat22players.
4) PeeWee:ateamwillbedeclaredwiththefollowingminimumof11playersand
asecondteamwillbedeclaredat22players.
5) Bantam:ateamwillbedeclaredwiththefollowingminimumof11playersanda
secondteamwillbedeclaredat22players.
6) Midget:ateamwillbedeclaredwiththefollowingminimumof11playersanda
secondteamwillbedeclaredat22players.
7) LLAreservestheoptiontodeclareasecondteamforNovice/Pee
Wee/Bantam/Midgetat18players.
b. Releaseswillnotbegrantedtoanynon-registeredmemberoftheLLA.
c. ReleaseswillonlybegrantedwithwrittenconsentbytheLLAExecutive.
d. Playersmustberegisteredintheiragedivision.Playermovementmaybeallowed,
(providedplayermovementsatisfiestherulesofmovementassetbyALAandWLA)at

LLA’sdiscretion.Requestsforplayermovementmustbeinwritingandaddressedtothe
PresidentofLLA.
e. Permissiontotryoutforan‘A’teamorTeamAlbertawillbegrantedtoanyplayerwho
requestsit.
f. PermissionmustberequestedandgrantedbythePresidentofLLA.Oncetheplayerhas
successfullybeenacceptedontoateamofwhichLLAdoesnotprovide,andtheplayer
hasregisteredwiththeLLA,theplayershallbeconditionallyreleasedforoneseasonto
thereceivingclub.Theonlytimeareleasewillbedeniedisifthatplayerwouldmake
theminimumnumber,asspecifiedbytheALA,forLLAtodeclareateaminthatdivision.
DIRECTIVE8:FOLLIOTT-NIEDERMAIERAWARD
a. TheFolliott-Niedermaierawardisanannualandwasestablishedin2016inrecognition
ofGregFolliottandDarcyNiedermaier,thetwomenwhowereresponsibleforbringing
lacrossetoColdLakein2005andestablishingtheLLA.
b. Therecipientofthisawardcanbeanymemberingoodstanding,pastorpresentofLLA
whoexhibitsfairplay,goodsportsmanship,integrityandapassionanddedicationto
thegameoflacrosse.
c. Therewillbeonerecipientperagedivision.
d. Submissionscanbemadebyanyoneinthecommunity.SubmissionsfortheFolliotNiedermaierawardcanbemailedtoLakelandLacrosseAssociationat(4313–50th
Avenue,Unit1007,Bonnyville,AlbertaT9N0B4)oremailtothePresidentofLLA.
e. DeadlinesforSubmissionswillbeJune1ofeveryyear.
f. TheExecutiveboardofLLAwillreviewthesubmissions.Selectionswillbebasedonthe
numberofsubmissionsandwhetherthepersonmeetstheestablishedcriteria–Exhibits
fairplay,goodsportsmanship,integrity,andapassionanddedicationtothegameof
Lacrosse.
g. Therecipientwillbeannouncedpubliclyandtheyearendevent.Theaward/plaquewill
bedisplayedatthemembershomearena
DIRECTIVE9:NON-VOTINGBOARDPOSITIONS
Webmaster
a. E-mailssenttothewebmaster/administratorfromusersonthewebsitewillbe
guaranteedaresponse,notnecessarilyananswer,withinthree(3)businessdays.
b. AlldocumentsandformsaretobesenttotheWebmasterinaWorddocumentformat.
c. Allrequestsforpostingsshouldbedoneatleastthree(3)dayspriortoyourrequest
postingdeadline.

Webmasterwillletyouknowwithinthattimeframewhenthedocumentshavebeen
postedorifthereareanychallenges/questionsregardingthepostingofthe

approvalfromthePresidentpriortosending.Onceapprovalisgiventheycanbe
forwardedtothewebmaster.
d. TheWebmasterreportsdirectlytotheBoardthroughtheMediaandMerchandising
Director.UnderthedirectionoftheExecutiveBoard,thewebmasterhastheauthority
toremoveanythingfromthewebsite.Allinformationonthewebsitewillbecurrent
anduptodate.
DIRECTIVE10:LLASAFETYANDEQUIPMENT
a. LLArequiresallplayerstowearthenecessarycertifiedequipment,asspecifiedbythe
ALA,atallgamesandpractices.
b. Mouthguardsaremandatoryatalltimes
c. Kneepadsarerecommended,butarenotmandatory
d. Goalieequipment–GoalieequipmentincludingastickwillbeprovidedtogoaliesofLLA
whoareinMiniTyketoPeeWeeandtoallotherdivisionswheneverpossible.Gear
mustbereturnedattheendoftheseasoninthesameconditionitwasgivenand
sanitizedaspertheEquipmentDirectorsspecifications(withnormalwearandtear
takenintoconsideration).GoaliesareresponsibleforpurchasingtheirownJock/Jilland
helmet.OversizegoaliesneedtogetequipmentexemptionspriortoApril15ofevery
year.
e. Jerseysaretobeturnedintotheirrespectiveteam’sJerseyCoordinatorattheendof
everygame.Itistheresponsibilityoftheteam’sJerseyCoordinatortoinsurejerseys
arewashedandlookedafterproperly.Alostordamagedjerseywillcostaplayer
$100.00replacementfee.
f. EquipmentReturn–Managersaretoarrangethereturnofjerseysandgoalie
equipmenttotheEquipmentDirectorattheconclusionoftheseason.Headcoaches
areresponsibleforthereturnofballbags,firstaidkitsandcoachingsuppliesthatwere
providedbytheLLA.

Thepurposeofthisistoinformyouoftheusetowhichplayerinformation,pictures,andgame
information(statistics)willbemadeandtoobtainconsentforsuchuse.
a. Playerinformationiscollectedandmaintainedtoproperlycoordinateandoperatethe
LakelandLacrosseAssociationprogram.Itisalsoprovidedtothe(WLA)Wheatland
LacrosseAssociation,(ALA)AlbertaLacrosseAssociationandotherlacrosseleaguesfor
purposesoftournamentregistration,gameregistrations,statisticalinformation,any
divisiontheplayersteamplaysin,andinsurance.
b. Playersnames,information,dataphotosandcommentsmayalsobeusedinteamor
leaguenewsletters,annualreports,LakelandLacrosseAssociationandWheatland
lacrosseassociationWebsites,newspapersherLacrosseorlocalpublications.
c. Individualandteamphotosmaybetakenanddisplayedinlocalnewspapers,local
arenasandinbusinessesthroughouttheLakelandinhonoroftheirsupport.Other
reportsandadvertisementspreparedbyLakelandLacrossearepermittedaswell.
d. Player’snamesandparent/guardiantelephone,email,andotherinformationmaybe
usedforthepurposesofteam,league,andLakelandLacrosseAssociation
communicationmatters.
e. Player’snamesmaybeincludedonlistsforthepurposeofteamplacementandtracking
playerstatisticsbyteam,league,LakelandLacrosseAssociationandWheatlandLacrosse
Associationandsuchstatisticsmaybedisplayedontheirwebsites.
